| Okay Who"s Here? Come Out I Know Your Lurking!
Okay who's here? Come out, come out, I know you're lurking!!!!!
Autumn is upon us. The holidays are on our doorstep (along with those little Trick or Treaters!). This is a dangerous time for alot of dieters!
How are you planning to handle the holiday season at this point in your journey?
Weather's getting colder (at least in this hemisphere). It's getting too cold to exercise outdoors in some places. So what are your winter exercise plans?
Food issues:
Now is the time to buy those fall fruits and veg for use now or later:
Cranberries can be frozen or dried (unsweetened of course). Buy them now so you can use them later in the year.
Nuts are in season too. They freeze well. So run to the baking aisle of the market and stock up if you see a good sale. Roasting your own nuts is easy to do. Likewise, you can grind them down for other recipes.
Pumpkin and celeriac/celery root is coming in season. You can make veggie snack chips from them.
HAPPY AUTUMN!!!

I'm here! lol
I don't know if I am the best person to jump into this conversation, but what the heck.
First off I LOVE TO COOK. yes, even now. My poor husband has had to deal with my cooking cravings. I don't know about the rest of you but I am a food Voyeur.
So, come Thanksgiving, i will be cooking. I guess I am lucky in the fact that I have no appitite yet. (my luck it will kick in the day before thanksgiving). We go to my grand in laws for xmas in Ohio(GO BUCKS!!!!) I lucked out there too because not only are they on weight watchers, but his cousin had wls surgery last year.
As far as stocking up. I made my own applesauce(no sugar added) and always keep a frozen supply of cranberries, pecans, pumpkin seeds and walnuts. I love love butternut squash, so I roast it and freeze it.
As far as exercising is concerned , its not too bad outside since I live in the south.

| WOW Peggy!!! THAT is amazing..... I'm sooo thrilled for you that your family is sooooo supportive b/c you've all had WLS!!! That is sooooooo great!. Think of the life span that is increasing....I know you all are thrilled and sooo happy....you've got so much support and encouragement at every turn....wow!!! Hope you have a great THANKSGIVING!!!! _____________________________________ For Us: We just found out today that one of our best friends is coming to stay with us for a few days during the Thanksgiving break!!! WE are soooo excited....she will be our FIRST GUEST!!! We also were invited to my new friend - Stephanie's house for the Holiday...so we are going there...and going to cook a very traditional Texas Thanksgiving dinner. I imagine it will be wonderful...but I will have to be careful. I'm not really worried, now that I'm eating easier - but, now I'll have to be careful to concentrate on my proteins....and minimalize my carbs and sweets!! This will be my challenge this holiday season.... On a side note: I think it's funny that although we will be here in NYC for Thanksgiving....we will be celebrating with all TEXANS!! It cracks me up that my new friend Stephanie, Hubby & Daughter are from Dallas...then so is my friend coming! Funny huh?? I'm looking forward to a little bit of "home."

Lisa- I was just thinking its almost time to join a gym so I can continue to walk walk walk. I have no real interest in food still, but of course im only 3 weeks out, Last night I had a little bit of beef stew, I should have blended it but the carrots and potato melted in my mouth, so it was just purred. today Im feeling better, I am cleaning my garage out, first for the sake of fall cleaning and second because its exercise. I clean for about 1/2 hour then stop because Im tired and thirsty. So as of now I have a little more then 1/2 done, This is alot of work since its so dusty in there and I dont think its seen a good cleaning in at least 3 years. But today I got a second wind an took my car to the self service car was, I spent 20 minutes just washing, then another 10 vacuming. I plan to walk tonight at least 1 mile. Im trying really hard to get protiens in and they just dont like me! The only thing im managing is peanuts, unsalted. this has 7 grams of protein. so Im trying but currently feel like im on a stall, the only thing i can think of is my body is saying we have to hold on to everything, or not enough protein. UGGGG when will this cycle end.
