Lightbulb Are you ARMED and READY to COMBAT THE HOLIDAYS?

With the holidays approaching, family gatherings, parties, office celebrations...I thought it would be a good idea for us all to share the plans we are making to get through it without jeopardizing our way of eating rules.

HALLOWEEN: did not buy my favorite chocolates to give out to trick or treaters and did buy myself one bag of sugar free reeses peanut butter cups and froze them if i have a week moment next week these are my treat. I got a great recipe from LISAMARIE and will like her make a sugarfree version for me of
MUDD--

THANKSGIVING: I dont expect trouble for me with this ocacsion...i will be fine with TURKEY and veggies ...the deserts for this ocasion i can pass up with ease...pumpkin pie etc.

CHRISTMAS: I will use as i did last year my 3 taste rule:
The First Bite is to get a good taste.

The Second Bite is to verify it was as good as we thought it would be.

The Third Bite is the LAST BITE, so savour it.

WHO's NEXT???? I believe the best success will come from being prepared!!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

HEY BREN...
Well last year i had no desire to eat bad things. BUT this year
is totally different for me. I can and do eat things i am not supposed.
SO i dont want to loose control thru the holidays.

I did the 3 bite rule at christmas last year.
AT THANKSGIVING morning i made ONDERLAND so i was so happy with that
so that kept me on track!
HALLOWEEN i was still to chicken to try sweets and ruin the day dumping and all the parties.

SO im hopeing thinking and planning for me will get me thru the holidays!!!

Hey, Friendly--I love your 3 bite rule idea! I think I can handle that. Thanks. I never knew they made sugar free Reese's peanut butter cups, sounds good. It reminded me of an idea I read in the paper yesterday, to mix a little peanut butter and cocoa in with plain yogurt and it tastes like reeses. Think I'll try it.

LET ME CLARIFY THEM.....wannabethin...

they have the sugar alcohols in them that will cause stalls ( me i ll have the runs from it but oh well better then eating regular) and are very high carbs. BUT i feel to have on hand thru this awful candy holiday will be better then the regular stuff. THE other down fall to these products and i like to be honest and from my own experience they do trigger those evil
cravings!!! SO USE a product like this at your own risk! I know i didnt go near the stuff for my first 10 months!

Awesome post Lisa! Way to get us planning ahead.
BTW, love your three taste rule.
Seeing that I'm having a little trouble eating solids, I don't foresee any of the upcome holidays to be a problem.
I'll be away on a pug rescue transport on Halloween, don't need to worry about that one (and we have no human kids to worry about).
I will eat my turkey and veggies and be nothing but happy about it...
and Christmas I plan to play Mrs. Clause, so I won't even worry about food!
Besides, I hope to be at 100lbs down by christmas... and nothing taste as good as thin feels

well, if i've had the surgery i'll either be on purees or soft foods so i should be ok as far as food goes then, if asked i will tell people about the surgery and this is what i have to do no ifs ands or buts ( no i said buts, not butts, teeheehee)
if i haven't had the surgery i am going to let myself have a little of whatever but not to much. I've been cutting down on what i'm eating and have almost eliminated sweets completely, and have been staying away from breads, pasta and potatoes, so i'll try to stick to it, but if i have a little it won't be as bad as stuffing myself till i can't move because it tastes so good. May talk to my mom before the meal part and tell her that to help deal with not wanting to eat to much i may remove myself before everybody is done eating. then again now that i eat so much slower i may not have to worry about that.

never ended up having thanksgiving dinner, so that wasn't a problem.

Halloween? good question...well, we didn't actually have any trick or treaters last year so i may get some candy but not lots, i do like the idea of having a special treat on reserve just incase the candy craze hits. Probably get a white sugar free chocolate bar.
