Angry Went to the Doc...what a jerk!!!!

So, a few years ago I had migraines and I mean every day I had a migraine to the point where I couldn't function. After several test, and several medications besides being told that it was attributied to my weight they found that it was a Chilari (spelling??) malformation. Which is something along the lines where the base of your brain rest drops and can cause some pressure and in return cause headaches. So they thought that I would have to have surgery. So to make a long story short it turned out not to be that. So the I went back to my neurologist and he decided to do a round of cortozone shots. I went for the first round and it was horrible, I was so hungry, I was moody, it was awful. So, now my mirgraines are back so I decided to go back, no keep in mind he has no idea that I had the surgery. So I go in they weigh me he comes in, and he says you I know you from somewhere looks at my chart and says I remember now..."you've lost a lot of weight." Being that he used to always contribute my headaches to my weight before and SWORE to the South Beach diet when he asked how I did it I could help myself but to say "portion control" which isn't a total lie. He said "well maybe I should look into that." Then he started talking about where my head was hurting and so I lifed my arms up to show him. I had on a short sleeve shirt and he said something along the lines of "Holy Sh*#, your arms look like Sh*#!!! You need to exercise, it's great that you've lost the weight, but that's only half the battle!!!" I know that! But I am not here for you to tell me that and critique my body I do that enough thanks. I can tell you everything I love and HATE about it, I don't need your advice too! I could have cried right there I didn't know what to do. I was shocked! That seemed so seemed so unethical??? Am I blowing this way out into left field? Did I take this the wrong way? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Sorry this is so long.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Jolie, what a painful experience. ((((((HUGS))))))
If you want to place a complaint, and the dr works at a hospital, then there's probably an ethics committee or something of the like that you place your complaint. If he's in private practice, hmmm, not sure how it works there, but if he has board accreditation, then you probably can place your complaint to the board.
Hope you don't take offense, but, you should have cried right there if you felt like it, it's the best way to let an insensitive dr know you are hurting. Let him be embarrassed that he made you cry. He deserves it.

Sorry you had to go through that.
His comments were very inappropriate and unprofessional.
I'd find a new Dr. He seems to have issues with "looks" and "fat" to the point of loosing focus on the real issue of why you were there.
Your right. He sounds like a jerk and a poor diagnostician.

Okay Jolie so you should totally make an appointment with my neurologist Dr. Indrani Sen. She is awesome and really good. I am so sorry about the jerk but I already told you that on the phone. I would deffinataly have told him off if I had been in the waiting room waiting for you.

I would have slapped the crap out of him and said "Holy sh@# your face looks horrible you should learn to stay focused and keep your mouth shut." I guess that may have been too much, but he deserves it. Report him and find someone else who can help you with your migrains.

OMG....Jolie, i feel so bad for your horrible experience. He was totally out of line. He needs a reality check. He is in the wrong business to be acting like that. I would definately place a formal complaint against him and quit using him. That is just wrong. You have worked hard to get to where you are and don't need crap from some ass like that. You keep up your good work and don't worry about him.

I would be pissed and depressed.

I have a breast that turned out skanky. The doc is in San Francisco, I am in Austin. When I went to get it revised, doc had to leave immediately on holiday, so he never got to see it.

Well, I am absolutely maimed. I'll post pics as soon as I digitalize them.

When I told the doc I was unhappy with the results, he says well, you turned out better than 90% of the people. Like I was being unrealistic or imagining things! Like that's going to make this miraculously alright.

I went to see another surgeon here yesterday. The photos are awful. I sent a brief letter, the photos, and the surgical quote to muy doc. We'll see what happens.

I really do believe in his ability. Sometimes bodies heal weird. No problemo. Just fix it. And don't be gd condescending!!!!
