| Not feeling myself
Hi all. I haven't been here in a while and it feels great to be back. I have missed all of you alls encouraging words.
Well lately ever since I passed out 6/18/09 due to dehydration I haven't been feeling myself. I was really constipated all last week and I was drinking around 64 oz of water. I was feeling so heavy and fat. I felt like I wasn't going to be successful at this. The other day I took a saline lax and it cleaned me out. So I no longer feel so heavy but I noticed today that my stool is hard again and it feels as if I may be getting constipated again. I don't know what to do. I exercise and drink 64 oz of water a day. I have even gone back to protein shakes for breakfast and lunch with a sensible dinner. That makes me feel a little better but still not feeling myself. I have also only lost 1 lb in the last 2 weeks. That is kind of discouraging. I know it will get better. I just wanted to put this out there and hear from people whom understand and can give some feed back.
Well, I hope you all are having a wonderful day and BIG HUGS!

((((HUGS)))) Be careful with saline lax, that can actually dehydrate you.
There are a few things you can try. Smooth Move Tea, Miralax, sunflow seeds among them-- be sure to chew the sunflower seeds to pulp.
You know you'll lose in humps and bumps. Your body just needs to catch up with stuff. How are you clothes, are they getting looser? If so, you're on the right track, even if your scale isn't moving, you're losing your inches.
Hang in there, be patient, and the inevidable will happen..in the end, you will be only half the woman you were.

Hey Girl!! Missed you!! You may be running into that constipation problem because of your diet right now. I remember the pre-op liquid phase vividly!! I was constipated so badly...now that I am eating a relatively normal diet I no longer have any problems with constipation. I do use olive oils and try to eat fiber (broccoli, beans, etc) to help with BMs and that has really done the trick!! I didn't know that you had passed out from dehydration!!! Be careful!!! I have definately learned to drink like a fish, I average about 72ounces a day or more. Good luck Brandi, get better!!!

I had a similar problem like that a while back I called my Doctor and she had me take "Dulcolax" stool softener. It worked wonders for me and got me on track again. Hope you feel better soon!!

| My system is very sensitive to stool softners so I go for the natural treatments when I can ~ I know some out there are carb conscious and won't consider this, but it works for me, I eat shredded wheat, 1 serving every 1-2 days, average about 5x wk. Also, a little apple juice helps. Hope you feel better soon ~ hugs!

Are you still taking any type of pain relivers? They can cause them also. Miralax is a good stool softner to use. I havnt tried any of the new probotic stuff they have to aid with this problem. Honey I think each one of use hit this and asked about it.

I take 2 stool softener capsules (Ducosate Sodium..avail at Sams Club/Costco) per evening, per order of my PCP. I put 2 tablespoons of Benefiber (or equivalent) in my morning coffee every morning.
I have been chronically constipated my entire life. this is pretty much my only relief.
PS: Miralax is a laxative, not a stool softener. It advertises as a laxative.

I am much better now. I tried the sunflower seeds like Doc said and wow...it works and a plus is that I love them. I chew them really good too. I have also upped my water intake to around 64-76 oz a day and that works miracles.
Thank all of you for all your posts. It is definately something I took into mind. You all are GREAT!!!
