Default One More Week!

One week until my lap RnY GB! My surgery is July 7th. I totally switched from being excited yesterday to being scared. All the "what ifs" started crossing my mind...

Today, I am just a big jumble of emotions, but mostly excited again.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Yup!! You're normal!!! Get a lot done this week, 'cause you won't feel like doing it next week. Keep your mind occupied and make sure you have everything you'll need in your bag.

Good luck! May your surgery be nothing special for the doctor and your recovery boring!!

Wahoo 7 days and counting. This is an exciting time for you and those nerves are high. So normal so try and relax a little about it.

Don't forget;
- to take a 'before' picture
- pillow for ride home to hold tummy in
- chap stick/lip balm (a must) for hospital stay
- comfy pants/shorts
- one ounce cups for sipping
- slippers for the walking you will do in hospital

Holding a seat here on the losers bench for you.

OMG! I understand totally where you're coming from! My surgery date is July 8th, and I'm running the gaultlett from giddy with excitement to passing out from anxiety. My husband and I moved my daughter and grandkids into their 1st apartment yesterday. She's calling every few minutes "mom what if????" so I'm trying to calm her down, and keep calm myself. DH an my closest friend are trying to change my mind because they're concerned for me. I think my bff is calling a prayer meeting to help me come to my senses lol! I met with my pcp last week to go over my medications and just to talk. I am assured this is the best solution for me, and I'm confident I've made the best decision. We're on the same page here, and we will both be just fine. Thanks Ksummer for the list of things to prepare for @ the hospital. I'm printing it to add to my check list.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! It is so close, I just can't believe it. My doctor doesn't require a liquid diet or the phospho soda before the surgery. I am greatful for that. He just said eat light for lunch and dinner the day before and no food or liquids after midnight. My report time is at 6:30am. I am hoping I am the first patient my surgeon has after a relaxing holiday weekend. He should be very alert...at least that is what I keep telling myself.

My surgeon is attempting to remove my lap band and perform the gastric bypass laparoscopically. He said that if adhesions cause any issues with removing the band that he may have to opt for a full open surgery. To date, he has never had a band removal resort to that. So, I am hopeful on that one too.

I have never looked so forward to being a "loser" my whole life.

I had the lap-band surgery 14 months ago. It is hard not to be scared, but please do not let that stop you at all. If you have never had surgery like me, I was scared. I had my surgery at 8:30 a.m. and I was up and walking by 2:OO pm. I went home the following day. Just hang in there. A year will go by before you know it and you will not regret the results!
