Talking Good luck, Newbies!!

To all those of you who are getting their heart's desire this week, good luck in your surgery!! May the procedure be a textbook example of doing it the right way and may your recoveries be boring!!

Once you get home, ramp up the water, work on protein, and follow your surgeon's instructions to the letter, and your success is assured. Even if you think that you're the one who will fail, do as the doctor tells you and you will be amazed at how the weight just drops off!!

Good luck, all!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thanks Perfesser! I was thinking about making a post asking about last minute advice. I was wondering about any items that I may need to have around when I get home that maybe I didn't think of so that I can go pick up anything I need.

During the liquid phase, I was wondering what you guys mostly used?? I was thinking about getting those pourable cardboard containers of chicken broth or stock. I figured that would be easier than trying to mix bouillon or whatever. That way I can just pour what I need.

Any other ideas or last minute tips anyone?

Good luck. We have alot going in this week. I agree with CT do what YOUR own surgeon tells you and follow it and you should be fine. Prayers going out and we have your spots waiting and polished on the losers bench.

Tips: Sample the protein powder instead of getting huge containers of it. Your taste will change. The broth your speaking of........ what ever taste better to you do it that way. I like the type we made ourselfs out of the cube better. That was my taste.

Any one offering help take it. Dont shy away from it. Gladly accept it.

Come here and vent or ask questions. That is the biggest one I can think of.

Take care honey god speed

I was especially thankful for my toothbrush and toothpaste. Even though I couldn't drink til my xray to be sure there were no leaks, I was allowed to brush my teeth and rinse my mouth. Helps the dry mouth. I also took my fav lotion to "freshen up" a bit as I wasn't able to shower in the hospital post op. I agree with Vicki, don't spend a ton of money on anything right now, just get several samples to try, I think Bariatric Advantage has a sample packet you can get. Also, maybe try the unflavored protein you can put in water with crystal light. SF popsicles are great post op. I've always wanted to try the calcium lozenges but haven't done that yet ~ you should be able to use them immediately post op coz their a lozenge. Last, but not least, hang in there and remember this stage is relatively short, but it sure doesn't feel that way while you're in it! Hugs ~ have a great week and we'll be waiting to hear from you
