So for insurance purposes I have to have the 6 month supervised diet which I was discouraged by at first but now I am going on visit 4 this month! Does anybody know after what visit they request pre op stuff and what sort of pre op stuff do they have you do? If anybody can shed some light for me that would be so great!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

That's interesting they haven't order any tests yet. During my six months I did all of my labs, EKG, Stress test, Sleep Apnea test, Pulmonary Function test and was ready to roll the day of my last 6 month appt. I would ask your doc about them so you can get started just in case you need to redo anything.

Good luck

Check with your doctor's practice. We can guess and speculate, but they can tell you true. I used the whole 6 months to knock out all the tests and procedures I needed to finish my checklist. You're close enough now that I doubt any results would go out of date by September.

I wasn't even given authorization to see the surgeon until I had completed my 6 months, but the practice i did the weight management through was able to order some of the prerequisite tests directly, and there were others that they told me to ask my PCP to order. Once I got to the surgeon, I thought I had everything I needed done. My checklist was complete.... but then they wanted an upper endoscopy! So that was another 4 week delay. Once that was done... things went REALLY quick. I'd say the whole process took me about 9 months. Hope it goes quickly for you!
