Default Reason for absence!

Hi, everyone!
I just got out of the hospital Thursday ......went in last Saturday.....rushed to St.Louis @ Barnes for emergency surgery.....
I had a abcess on my pouch where the small intestine connected......they had to redirect this and close up the previous connection.
and another one abcess hernia in the small intestine itself....which they cut out about two inched of intestine and re-connect .
Two doctors here and there said " if I didnt go to the hospital @ that time, that I faced death by the following morning...They said this wasnt nothing to mess with and that it is fatal......I was so-scared.....I'm doing ok now ,sore as heck, they striction my activities no more exercises for least 4 to six weeks.....I can't lift nothing heavier then a phone book.....thought this was bazaar but, what ever they say I will difintely do it......I'm so confused and worried more now then anything....I did as b4 everything that a person should do after GBS , I guess it goes to show that anything can happened....People ask me now do I regret it , well I can say now yes I do...with the exception of having the GBS..it was a life saving in its own way....
Thank you for listening to me...

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Awww. ((((((HUGS)))))))
I am sorry to hear that you had such trouble.
It is something that can happen to anyone who has had abdominal surgery, actually, not just GBS, it's too bad that it had to happen to you. Part of it is due to an over-reaction of your body trying to heal, to put it simply. It sounds like some sort of adhesion as well as herniation occured which ended up with a pocket of infection.
Yes, be careful about your activities, you are being restricted so your inside will heal without leaving any weaknesses.
I hope you'll be able to have a restful weekend, and that your recovery will be uneventful.

Red face Belle!!!

I'm sooo sorry....
This sounds aweful!!

So...I know you probably don't want to think about the details...but, I'd really like to hear what happened before...what made you call your doc in the first place?? How did you know there was a problem...did you think it was a 'stricture?'

Stories like this shake me up b/c you never know when something will "go wrong"...and it's great we all have one anothers support, so we can glean off of others experiences.

Makes me think of Lisa when she figured out she had an ulcer - Doc sent her to the ER....and I know Lisa's knowledge has helped several with strictures, etc.

Thanks for posting...and sharing....thanks for posting!!!

Red face WOW Belle!!!

Thanks soooo much for posting these details....

This is VERY helpful...to those of us who have no idea. BUT,it seems like you wouldn't miss these symptoms!!! It was VERY VERY obvious that you were having some sort of problems!!! WOW.

I am soooo soooo sorry that you had to go thru this.
Your discription reminded me of the only time I've had a huge medical issue...I had a gall stone in the duct, is what they found....and wow....was it the MOST pain I've ever experienced. I thought I was gonna die!

I'm sure you felt this way too.....OH MY.
I'm soooo glad and thankful that they knew what was going on...and took care of it in emergency surgery...and you are recoving well now!!

Do you have to "start over" on protocol...like when we first had surgery...liquids...then pureeds...then soft...then solid??

Just curious...
I'm glad you're ok now!!!
