Default I don't know if i am ready for this one...

Yesterday, i went out with my ex-boyfriend ( i know i know but we are still friends). We went to lunch and had a great time and watched a movie together just like the old days. Now him and i broke up about 3 months ago and about 1 month after that i decided to have the surgery. I started the process and told him about it when i got approved and a date (sept 29). As we were riding in the car yesterday, he became angry because i was telling him about my surgery. He told me that he is upset with me taking the easy way out, and that i could die from this i am being "cut on" unesscessarily. and later asked if i was doing this because we broke up, and whether or not this is a ploy to get him back. I told him that we were together for 8 yrs, and i went from thick to chunky back to thick and then fat. ( yes there is a difference). and he stayed with me. I expressed to him that i was doing this so i can be healthy, excel in my career and marry a rich NBA or NFL star (i threw that one in for spite).
-He then told me that, he cares about what happens to me (and i believe that is true) but he will do all within his power to talk me out of it. Then he went on to say beside "You will be funny looking like Star Jones"... i told him i will be hot like Carnie Wilson and i have every intention of posing naked for playboy. and then streaking down 8 mile ( yes i live in detroit but that is not where Eminem is from he is from Warren, MI- try pointing that out on a map ) Anyway, i just wanted to vent (thanks for reading) but for kicks and giggles.. did any of you have this situation with a boyfriend husband or recent ex-boo... and yes i know i shouldn't care about what he thinks but he is my friend.

"it's all a process"

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I looked at the date of this - thought you might have posted a few years ago. Carnie has gained back a lot of her weight. You can pick someone here though - there are several hotties - and show their photo to your b/f for inspiration!

It's good to think it through. That your b/f is trying to talk you out of it, will help you in the final decision process which is good. By the time you go into surgery, you will be very prepared. It's a change of lifestyle and permanent change to your body.

*hugs*

So long as you are sure this is the best thing for you, then it is the best thing.
As for your ex, just check out the threads in Families and Loved Ones, and you'll see how this is a relatively common occurence.

You will find that people that dont understand the process and why you do it will always throw in their two cents.. But its what is best for you that matters and in the rest of your life he is only going to be a side line I am assuming you are not going to marry this guy.. So just pass it off and if he wont even listen then stop talking to him. If he really cared he would spend time finding out the truth about this surgery and not just spout crap.. You could ask him to sit and let you show him why its not the easy way out and why you want it for yourself and if he wont even sit and listen then just walk away..
