| confessions of a poor eating at THANKSGIVING:
OKAY....
its very quiet around here this weekend.
I hope no one is down about how they ate
or choices they made.
I will go first and say what i did. LAST year was
easier for me then this year but i guess i survived.
We had dinner at my FIL's place.....about 45 mintues
after we got there food started being served...
appetizers first....shrimp...yummy protein figure i
can have couple of those...next came some baked
clams.....had to have one of those.....then was home
made soup i had few mouthfuls of that... starting to feel
full.....but feeling im doing okay and only had very little soup.
BUT worrying in my head how am i gonna get any of the main
meal down and have room . Well i take my plate.....turkey, greenbeans,
1/4 piece of a yam shared with my son and hubby, little nibble of stuffing,
cranberry sauce....and i continue to eat........
Well i did pretty good......enjoyed the meal...ate an okay amount. MORE
then a weight loss surgery patient should but i ate and enjoyed. BY now
my youngest son had been drinking so much soda being it was a holiday and allowed he needed to go potty so i went to help him...and thats when i refunded my entire meal. SO i am happy my tool worked and it didnt allow me to get away with my overeating that got me morbidly obesite.
I just wish i knew how to stop sometimes at the right time and not push it.
BUT with that i still enjoyed my holiday.
I dont mind refunding things.
AND its back on track monday morning with
extra workouts for me this week.
HOW did you fair?????
lets all share.....!
I did use my 3 bite rule for the pumpkin pie dessert.
I was bad and didnt make the pumpkin mousse as i posted
on here and wanted too!
I am gonna make tonight for our home feast with ham dinner
were having here
ONE HOLIDAY DOWN more parites and gatherings to come!
NEXT party is next saturday for me!

I did very well for being 4 weeks post op mostly puree stlye foods a bit of oh soo yummy ham . I know what you mean about not knowing when to stop eating. I havn't had the pleasure of refunding yet but I am a newbee .When I was in nutrition classes she(teacher) had stressed that you would feel full in the middle of your chest , I think I can eat about
5 oz of (pureed food)and then I just stop myself cuz I know I am not suspose to eat that much . well I should thank God I havn't had any proublems so far (knock wood).
Well I am going out of town for a few days ,catch up with ya all in a few days see ya

| Ooooh I'm SOOO THANKFUL!!! Thankful that the THANKSGIVING Holiday is OVER!!! I love the holiday the most...and it's all surrounding my "growing up" with the holiday weekend being a celebration...and my birthday! I did really well...and had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I didn't overeat, but wish I would've concentrated on more PROTEIN - Turkey...etc. - instead of the other things!! We went to our friends house in Jersey City...and when we arrived they had hors d'oeuvres....some artichoke spinach dip....and a wonderful cream cheese/preserve both with chips and crackers. (That was great, and I had a couple bites of all) Then an hour or so later we had turkey, stuffing, creamed corn, green beans, and potatoes. I had some of everything - I especially loved the stuffing & potatoes! Wish I would've concentrated on the TURKEY! LOL.... Here we are getting ready to eat...My friend who is visiting is Mara next to the window...and my friend Steph is in front! ~ Dinner was DELISH!!! Later a hour or so after dinner....we had coffee, and I had a little bit of bailey's in it. I didn't have a reaction...and didn't even feel light headed. So I think I handled that well too!!! The part that was awful...is we left late from our friends...rode the train home...and then ate some pecan pie - this was not good for me, even though I only had 3 bites! I think I had that hypoglycemic thing happen...and went to bed sick! I didn't feel that well AT ALL yesterday....everything I ate didn't sit well....and last night I went to bed sick again. Thankfully, today's eating has been great and normal...no sickness! So, I must be back to normal! How'd everyone else do??

Okay so I think that there was something in the air regarding Thanksgiving pie that day...lol. I did pretty good too at dinner and only ate a small bite of everything that looked good, but then later when I tried one small bite of my daughter's butterscotch pie....it was heart beating fast and sweating...the whole nine yards of not feeling good for a good amount of the evening. I haven't had any previous experiences like that with sugar with the exception of a part of a junior frosty from Wendy's a couple days before. I am thinking that I am getting the dumping syndrome a little late, but it actually works out perfect for me to have this reaction right now for the Holidays to keep me in line, and I am extremely grateful for it. I was even grateful for it while it was happening...lol.

Thanksgiving at home was rather non excitement. Hubby doesn't "do" turkey and I can't digest it. Soooooooooooo, He had shrimp cocktail and fettucini shrimp alfredo.
I had 2 small shrimp diced(no alfredo sauce or pasta) and some green beans.

I did pretty good. I mostly stuck to the 3 bite rule and quit eating just before I got full. I did have 3 bites of peach pie, but my mom made the pumpkin mouse from Lisa's receipe and it was great I almost felt guilty eating it except I knew it was sugar free. I managed to still lose a few lbs so all in all Thanksgiving went well. Now its just surviving the next round.
