Talking Getting to know you!

I did this once before and it was really a big hit, so i thought i might do it again. I always like to hear about who everyone is, where they are from and what they do ...So i will start. Hope you all join in.

My name is LisaMarie. I am married and have 4 beautiful children ages 15,11, 4 and 3. The 11 year old is my only girl. I have one dog her name is xena she is 10 years old. I am a registered nurse and also as of recently an AVON representative. I will post my link at the bottom for anyone interested..I had my WLS Halloween 2005 and have lost about 85 pounds. Being 4'11" thats a whole lot of extra weight. I live in Manhattan and love it. Left once to try Long Island suburban life but it just wasnt for me, City Girl all the way here. I love sports espically my NY YANKEES{Love my Jeter and Arod} and my NY RANGERS{love my Henrik}. My son plays football and baseball i love watching him play as well. I have learned over the last year that i can actually get up and throw the ball around with him as opposed to sitting on my big butt and watching only. I am still learning even this far out ...its going to be a life long project staying on track and eating right but this tool has put me in the right direction. It has truely saved my life.
I have also made some wonderful friends through this surgery and through this site and OH. Its nice to have people who understand the daily struggles and can relate to your issues. You guys are what keep me going. Anyway thats about it for me.

So who is next?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi my name is Janae. I am 27 years old and the mother of two kids. I am also married for the past 8 years to a guy in the Air Force. I am trying to get ready to study phlebotomy, but have kind of put off my investigation into it due to holiday distractions. I had my surgery on April 4th of 2006 and have so far lost 113 lbs. I am hoping to reach my goal of Onederland soon, so I have been hitting the gym hardcore. My gym is my new love along with going to NYC, which really is the greatest place in the earth...lol. I absolutely love and appreciate the great people here on this board that have helped me through this second chance at life. I am already accomplishing things I didn't think possible.

My name is Brenda, I've been married for 17 years this December. I have two kids 15 & 13 (girl & boy). I'm an assistant neighborhood property manager for base housing. My hubby has been in the army fro 17 years. Right now we are calling Kansas home. I have two dogs and a cat.
I had my weight loss surgery on September 1, 2006 so just at 3 months now and have lost 64lbs.
I don't have much of a social life because I'm too busy helping my children lead their lives..lol So not much spare time.
I have enjoyed getting to know everyone here and looking forward to meeting all the new people and learning even more of those that have been around for awhile

That is so interesting that you work for housing. Do you like your work there? They just privatized our housing and there have been a lot of complaints around about the lack of maintanence that has been happening when people call with problems. I am sure that you see a lot of complaints your way too.

Talking Hi!!

My name is Deborah. I've been married for 7 yrs and have 1 sweet & beautiful daughter, age 3. I've been a designer for the last 15 yrs....and since 2003 have been doing that freelance. My husband says I am the busiest "non-working" woman he knows! I'm always into something and always working on a project!! I had my WLS April 19th, 2006 and have lost about 115 pounds. I live in NYC...and love it!! My husband is a student at SUNY Optometry school....and is working on his second career. We've only lived in NYC for about 4 months. Before that we lived in Dallas, Texas. (I grew up in TX and lived there most of my life!)
I am amazed how wonderful I feel, and how different 7months has made in my life! I can actually try on clothes and not feel disgusted...and now often like whatever I try on!! Especially if it turns out to be a smaller size than I'm used to! This is a fantastic Journey....
I never would've made it thru this without everyone here on this site! Like LM said, Its nice to have people who understand the daily struggles and can relate to your issues.

I love you all...thanks for being here for me...and wow, what fantastic friends you've become...and are becoming!!!

NEXT!!!

Janae, I love my job, and not too many complaints anymore. The company I work for took over in July and there were many complaints then but mainly about the other company. However with any job you have the one's you dread seeing come in to the office..lol

Yeah, I figure that I will wait to turn in my list of things that need fixed until after the holidays if I can avoid it. I know that they must have been bombarded by requests when they took over since the housing here is so old and rundown. I can't wait until they finish building the new housing. Supposedly we are the first group to move into the new ones. I love the proposed housing plans for them. They all include a one car garage for one, which would be so nice with hubby's Dodge to get it out of the weather and away from our neighbor kids. I think people need to try to be more understanding that they are just getting started here and give them the benefit of the doubt. I am glad I don't have to deal with some of their customers...lol.
