Default How do you feel?

12/8 is my WLS . Tons of thoughts going through my mind . As long as surgery goes well how long does pain linger from the surgery? (laproscopic). Also does the anesthesiologist put a tube down your throat during surgery? If so is it plastic, rubber, or what?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

FROM my experience around the WLS community. Everyone expereicnes different pain levels after surgery. We all are
different and thats probably why. I wasnt bashful to use my pain
pump at the hospitol...used it usually when i had to get up and out.

I did get released on a saturday from hospitol and did ween myself
off pain meds fast as they were makeing me feel icky. I proly by that sunday was only useing them at night so i could rest better. I had troubles witht he pain meds ...had to have them crushed and it just wasnt going down well for me at all so i delt without it.

Well there is probably a tube down the throat for the surgery but a good anesthesiologist would be certain your completely out before thats done and it should be removed before your awake and aware.
I have no memory of that. I only remember them telling me to breath in recovery....and teaching me right away how to manage my pain pump.

I didnt want to know to much that went on once i went to sleep. TO me it was just a quick nap.
WOKE up and was on the looseing side. I did remember saying the pain was more pronounced to my left side and i referred to it at times as feeling like a bus hit me. BUT i did all the things i was supposed to, each day got easier and now i am so happy i made
this choice for myself.

GOOD LUCK on your upcomeing surgery!
MY wishes for a text book perfect time

Congratulations on your date, may you have an uncomplicated surgery and recovery.

Yes, you'll have a tracheal tube down your throat, to just above where the trachea (airway) branches to the left and right lungs. It will be put in after you are put to sleep by other medication, and taken out as you are waking up. The tube is a kind of plastic, but not the same as what you usually find lying around. It is softer than regular plastic, but harder than rubber tubes. You most likely will see the anesthesiologist before your surgery, and he/she will explain to you what will be going on, and show you the tube if you want to see it.

(((((HUGS)))) Please keep us posted and let us know how you are doing as soon as you feel well enough to make it to your 'puter and this board, I shall be keeping you in my prayers.
