Smile HOLIDAY Strategies!!!!!

Staying Strong Strategies to get you through December

You've been working hard, but are you prepared for the onslaught of holidays fetes, soirees and snacks festooning your social calendar and your workplace for the next two weeks?

Plan ahead for success by looking at the usual scenarios which trip you up and how you can surpass them!

People bringing cookies to work?

Not a problem! You can sniff the cookie! For many (unless you suffer cepahlic responses pejoratively) can sniff a food and feel as satisfied as if they had eaten it. This strategy can mean the difference between inhaling the deliciousness that is the donut and then throwing it away, or eating the donut, and not even enjoying it.

Set a Good example

In a sea of home made snickerdoodlies and gingerbread McMansions, you can set a good example and provide foods you know you can also enjoy. If you're low-carbing, or wathcing yourself in a low-calorie manner, don't forgetto provide the veggie or the meat and cheese tray for the next function you're attending!

People filling your glass with high-cal or alcoholic beverages?

Sneak off to the restroom, drink in tow, and pour the drink down the sink, or water it down. No one will know. And we all know dumping water down the fake ficus only causes carpet stains. Play it smart, and you can nurse that beverage all night long without calling attention to the need for refills.

Going out for a company dinner?

Phone ahead to the restaurant and ask about the menu. If you know before you step foot in the door what you plan to order, chances are you will not only stick to your plan, but you will wnjoy a meal with no surprises!

Don't forget to exercise!
Exercise reduces stress and increases endorphins. If you're feeling the blahs due to shorter days of sunlight and the oncoming stress of the holidays, exercising has been scienbtifically shown to enhance mood.

Drink your water!

Cold winter days also leads to dry skin. Help keep your skin hydrated with water. Water also helps keep you healthy, your stomach full, and your body needs it!

Vitamins and Supplements are wonderful.

Depressed? Try some vitamin B-6 and chromium picolinate.

Crave sugar? Try L-Glutamine.

There are a variety of supplements and vitamins on the market which not only help to enhance your body's ability to fight off sickness, but which also are known to help elevate mood, fight off cravings and create feelings of general well-being!

There are many strategies which will help you get through the holidays. Be good to yourself. Be kind to yourself. In the race to finish out the year, don't put yourself last!

Health is only there for you as an ongoing gift when you give it to yourself.

And you deserve that!

What are going to be some of your staying strong strategies over the next couple weeks?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.
