5' 6" Height: | Hi everyone. I finally got cleared on the papers at work to use the gym there so I'm starting today. My question is...what's your routine? The person who trained me wants me to do tread mill and bike but says I should wait on the eliptical. I was under the impression that it was a better bet for me, that it was less stress on the knees etc. Any of you remember where you started? I'm also going to start on some of the machines. Should be interesting. Just trying them out while while being taught how to use them last week made my arms sore. Thanks for your imput. |

| Whipper Snapper | Kat, I started out walking at as fast a pace as I felt comfortable with on the treadmill, a stationary bike, and an elyptical trainer. I also established a resistance training routine using nautilus equipment mostly. I liked using a different cardio machine each day so I didn't get tired of any one of them. I still use the treadmill, but I jog about 2 1/2 miles in 30 min, I still use the elyptical as well, but don't use the bike. Instead, I began using a dual treadle machine and a stairmaster maching. I still try to alternate each day so I am using different muscles to some extent and to prevent burnout with one of them. I also had a trainer draw up a core strength fitness routine which I do about 3 times a week. Hope this helps some. Jerry

| Super Moderator | Hey, Kat, we have a newbie who's a certified trainer. NCPTGUY, who's a friend of Pillows. PM him and ask for his input, let him know if there are any limits your surgeon's set, or if you've gotten the green light for everything from him.
