My surgery was 12/8. Doc noticed an umbilical hernia so he tidied that up and all is going rather well....oh yeah since pre-op diet I have lost 25 lbs.....so cool. Guidelines from my surgeon says puree foods 1st week. How long did anyone wait befrore they tried pintos and cheese from Taco Bell? I am not eating alot.....some protein shakes, sf jello, apple juice. I am getting cold sweats pretty often.....no nausea or any other upsetting feelings.....maybe it is the apple juice. Well I think I will go watch a little T.V. and take a nap

well first off follow ur surgeons protocol. I did clear liquids for 2 weeks. 3rd week was milk based liquids 4th week was pureed were i would have a food like pintos and cheese. BUT right now in my area i wouldnt go near a taco bell for all the money in the world with the e coli scares. MANY stores here in the northeast have been closed. WITH your new plumbing you dont need any problems with e coli just now!!! ANYWAY welcome to the looseing side! sorry you had the hernia! YOU mentioned cold sweats from apple juice hope your cutting it with water or its far to much sugar and your reacting to it. GOOD LUCK!

Congratulations on joining the losers bench. Hmmm....rather than concentrate on when you will be able to eat what, concentrate on what you can eat now, and get used to them. You will probably find that contrary to what your mind craves, when you actually get to the stage that you are physically able to eat them, they will not sit well with you. Remember, this is as much a mind game as anything else. Don't let your old mind trick you into sabotaging your surgery, work on your mind so you will be able to get a new mind set where food is concerned, and you will be able to deal well with maintenance after reaching goal. ((((((HUGS))))))

Congratulations! I hope that your WLS journey goes well for you. Sounds like it's been a breeze so far. I was on clear liquids for the first 10 days (and gained 1 lb.) Then I went to puree for 6 weeks and then on to soft and most solids. I was not allowed beans or any gas producing foods for the 1st 3 mos. Doc is right about following your Docs plan and the mind game thing. Good luck and keep is posted on your progress.

Forgot to say, about your cold sweat. Check this out, it may be what is going on, and the sugar in the apple juice may very well be the culprit.
