Talking HOLIDAY PARTY: What are you wearing?

Well...the first time in years....we are going to a Holiday Party. My hubby's job stopped having corporate parties the year we got married...I was sooooo ticked. I thought those were soooo fun! When I was working for a design house we ALWAYS had wonderful holiday parties...and they were soooo fun!
WELL....
Now that Russ is in Optometry School there are school events all the time...we had the fun Halloween Party in October...and now this month there is a holiday party next wednesday the 20th!! I'm excited...it gave me an opportunity to buy a fun holiday dress....

I had been searching on eBay...b/c all the dresses I found at Macy's, Lane Bryant, H&M, and Stawberry were all over $100....so I thought I'd search it out on eBay instead.

I found the perfect one....and was soooo excited...found a very "Marilyn Monroe", Swing, or Rockabilly style dress by TORRID. (anyone familiar?) The auction was closing at 3:15am....so I stayed up to make sure I got it...bid a high of 69.00 and lost it in the last 2 seconds for $70! I was soooo sick. So then I got back on the search...and found a similar dress by the same seller that was closing and hour and 10min. later....so, I stayed up till 4:30am to insure THIS ONE WOULD BE MINE!!!!

Here they are....

The first one was a 16...and the measurments given were my measurements exactly...the one I got is an 18....I'm hoping that I can alter it for a better fit...the measurements are about 2" too big in the waist...and 2" in bust....we'll see.

I'd love to see the outfit you are wearing...or wore to your holiday party/parties....we are having a "come & go" Holiday Open House this weekend...and I'm still trying to figure out what I will don for that event...maybe one of my new numbers from Lane Bryant. We'll see!!

Show us those holiday DUDS!!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Red face Thanks...

...but you are still wearing that "number"!!!

I don't know how long I will wear it...but hoping that it will work for me! AND hoping that I'm not to self conscious of my bat-winged arms! LOL.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to alter this dress...and then I have a beautiful shawl from Spain that is White with embroidered Black flowers....
I'm excited!

YOU SHOULD POST your picture here....did you goto to the party yet?? Did you take pictures that night if so??

I love that dress (both of them) That store you were talking about TORRID we have one down here. I love it! It has a lot of young clothes and cute clothes for heavier girls. I shopped there a lot last year. I have a pair of jeans from there and they are the only ones I wear regularly.

Torrid is amazing...and where I got my infamous hooker boots from...lol. I will post a pic of me and hubby at the party later, but we haven't gone yet. I am hoping to be able to sneak away enough time to get my nails done before then. here is hoping right? I have never had them professionally done before and think it would be nice to do before he leaves. The party is tomorrow night by the way so should have pics up sometime this weekend with my whole look. Oh yeah and I got the Bare Minerals makeup too last weekend so I can wear that to the party too... soooo gonna stun em this time around...lol.

Wink Deb I am your eBay Queen, baby...

I've been buying and selling on eBay for 5+ years now, darlin. There is no way on God's Green Earth that you need to be staying up that late to be finding the perfect dress for yourself. Number one you could just put in your highest proxy bid and eBay does the bidding, number two there are specific sites out there that let you snipe an auction. For example you sign up and 2 seconds before the auction ends they'll bid for you (at your highest bid) and thus sweeping it out from under the rug from someone else. How else would I keep my child in H&M, Boden, and Hanna Andersson, and myself in all manner of handbags, and fashionista sunglasses (ya, ya, I TOLD you I know how to shop...). Anyway I'm your one stop place for answers, baby.
