Default Milk?

Just out of surgery on 12/8. Have already had dumping with apple juice....just cold sweats. i am using 2% milk to mix my protien shake and looks like milk has to much sugar to. Not getting sick....just cold sweats but they last for 2- 4 hours. I know, i know, my body is telling me what it is going to accept and not accept. This new tool I have is a great thing.....the only thing I have to do over the next several weeks is fine tune this tool. I am still on liquids but have tried some pureed split pea with bean (protien) that was a nice change from the liquid stuff. Im glad I like sf jello. Any suggestions on protein if I decide to get away from milk?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

It might take a while to tolerate milk... it took me 2 months. What about cottage cheese?

HEY !!!
WELL got to try the e store here or some other bariatric eating sites for
protein shakes that blend with water and are fruit flavors. BUT an intolerance now might go away in time. MANY do become lactose intolerant post op. THE only milk i have used post op is carbcountdowon (now named caloried countdown) by hood.

BUT i would suggest these protein shakes mixed with water:

DirectSupplement.com - Product Information - Nectar Protein (2lb)
search the net they come in different flavors and i know
some bariatric sites will get you samples to try before you
spend 20 something dollars for a large container!

i know i enjoyed the fuzzy naval flavor and used that
the first months post op. I found the juice based drink
better for me then milk based when i was hot.
I also loved drinking propel!!!!!

As for the applejuice did you dilute with water???? that will
probably help you tolerate it better. BUT dont fret what you dont tolerate today will change. MY stomach is always changeing!

GOOD LUCK!
and keep writing we care!

Knightron,

I would mix my protein powder in milk also before surgery, however, I didn't want to risk the adverse reaction after surgery. I have a banana flavored 100% Whey Protein powder and I mix it in the Sunrise Orange flavored Crystal Light. It actually tastes quite good, IMHO. You can even add some ice and blend it up to make a fozen shake if you like them that way. Hope this helps you out.

Jerry
