Default Another Dilation - Hopefully Feel Better Soon

Well, I had my 1 month visit with my surgeon today, and since I can't tolerate solid foods, they think my stricture is not dilated enough. I have to go in for another endoscopy next week or the week after. I am hoping to feel better soon. I am jealous of all of you who had no complications and happy for you that you felt better quickly after your surgeries. This sucks.

So, hopefully I'll find out more soon and will be feeling better after this next dilation. I really want to start on the road to recovery soon.

Thanks again for all the support!
Kath

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thumbs up

If you ever want to talk strictures, PM Bubblyangie in merry old England on the subject. I sorta lost count, but I think she had a half-dozen or so before she got it all straightened out.

One is one too many, but you have a long way to go to set a new record!!

I can see you being jealous honey. But dont despair they will get it and you will be just like us soon. Atleast you know the symptoms and they know how to fix it. Think of it that way.

Thanks guys. I know I'm not the first person to deal with this, but this surgery is hard enough - without feeling like crap for this long! I keep expecting to feel better, but when you can't eat anything and even drinking hurts it's hard. If I were still losing a pound a day, it would be awesome, but I only lost 2.5 this week (dr scale Vickie!) which sucks. I've decided to stay off of my scale until after the dilation and maybe a week after. I know as soon as my body starts healing the weight loss will continue. As long as I'm moving in the right direction (but fast would be nice too!).

So, a few more weeks off of work and more dr appointments, etc. So - back to puree! At least I know what I can eat, without worrying about throwing it up every meal!

Thanks guys, I'm so grateful to have this place to come and discuss this. Nobody else really understands. You guys are awesome. I'm even considering posting a picture or two soon!

-Kath

Hi Kath,

Like CT said I have had my fill of dialtations (9) so I know how you feel, But i will be honest with you, during that time I really learned how to read my body and understand my pouch needs, I now know exactly when enough food is enough, when the food is not going to go down.....because my stricture kept tightening, and I always knew when that happenend, so listen to your body now because what you are going through is a great opportunity to learn more about your body needs, I know you wont feel like its a blessing now, but I have realised over the past few months that it is... I have met other GBP patients who really do not know when they are full and they are over doing it but then wandering why the weight loss isn't so good.... I Thank God for the problems and stuff I went through because I am now in tune with my body, and doing really good.

Sorry for the long speech, I really hope that your stricture will be dilated soon and that it behaves and stays open.... feel free to PM me or chat im here..

Hugs
