This past weekend I decided to use my kids Wii fitness.
It looked like fun. You have to get on it and they tell
you your wieght (had my kids look away) and then they
tell you your BMI. Of course it told me I was morbidly obese.
I cried. I tried to hold it in cuz my kids were there. I was sooo
embarrased!!! Its one thing when the dr tells you alone.
But to have a machine tell you in front of your kids
The kids were soo supportive of me.

There should be a warning label on that thing

I am just sooo happy I made the decision to this for me and for them.

I think it would make me cry too! The first time I had a doctor use that word "morbid " for me was very devastating and I weighed alot less at that time then I do now.
I hope that once you have surgery you will see a significant weight loss and start to feel happier about everything, and sharing that success with your kids is gonna be one very awesome experience!

That Wii can be brutal!! Just hang in there... it won't be long until your little Wii person is shrinking away! Your kids will be so proud of you for doing what you're doing to take care of yourself. I know MY kids are!! They actually brag on me for being "skinny" now. I'm WAAAAAAAY NOT SKINNY (yet), but they can see such a difference that it looks skinny to THEM compared to how I used to look!

My last doc's appointment, he bragged on me for just being "obese" now.... no longer "morbidly obese." I said, "So what you're saying, doc, is that I'm still fat... I just won't die from it?" haha He didn't know what to say to me. He just kind of sat there dumbfounded and nodded his head. Hey, you just have to laugh at it.

You're on the right track... just keep reminding yourself of that. And like Vickie said, turn the volume down and don't worry about that Wii person's opinion!! Hang in there!

The Wii age thing almost made me cry! I am 29 and they told me I was 43! Warning, I am not saying 43 is old but who wants to be older than they are ... It shock me up for days! They should come with a warning!

Yes - the WII can break your heart. But they do have a new game that has just came out and it is great! Try "Walk It Out". I just got mine this week because I just had my surgery 10 days ago and the weather here is cold and rainy. I needed something to do inside. You can set your height and weight for your Mii and protect it under your own password so no one else can see the info. It will tell you how many steps you make and how many calories you have burned and it will keep up with this info. The whole concept is you are walking around an island and you open up more of the island based on the number of steps you take. I recommend this game highly!!! At least, it won't blurt out your BMI in front of everyone!!

Skinny-Don't worry...Wii told my daughter she was 27... shes 12!!! Technology!!

NCgirl-thanks I'll look into that..it is was to cold to be walking outside. Treadmill gets
a little boring. Going to an island will be a nice change. LOL

Skinny, my Wii Fit told me I was 43, too, and I can barely remember that age!! (Gotta love that little box!!)

When I got my Wii I couldn't even use it becuase I weighed too much and after my operation I went on it and it registered me...I was so happy! So it could be worse! LOL
I love it now. It's so much fun!
