| 5 Weeks Out Hi everyone.....I am wondering what any of you guys where eating 5 weeks post-op. I have been doing pretty well I think, can eat chili, thin sliced deli meats. Besides those 2 items I havent really experimented with much. I have not got sick once since surgery.....worst thing to happen to me was cold sweat after drinking some apple juice (non-dilluted). I have not tried any veggies except for some salsa on cottage cheese. If anyone wants to let me know what they are or where eating at 5 weeks post I sure would appreciate it. Oh yeah my surgery was 12/8 and have lost 40 lbs already, down 2 pants sizes and feeling great. I am so fortunate that i have experienced not one complication. |

My WLS date was 11/2/06. I am on the soft part of the diet. At that time and now, I ate tuna fish w/mayo, scrambled eggs w/cheese, string cheese, small curd cottage cheese.....for my sweet tooth I turn to products made by splenda.
Ice cream (Bunny brand from Walmart) only on occassion, I found bread and butter pickles (Mt Olive brand) made with splenda. They are sooooo good. Candy is made from Splenda. I have had some of that to suffice my cravings.
My doctor has me on a strict protein diet. Almost resembles Atkins induction. I do not eat many carbs, no fruit or juice, no flour, no rice/pasta, and no crackers. At most, I have had some apple sauce.
Good Luck!
Wendy

Wow! It sounds as though you are doing great!
My surgery was on 11/30/06 I'm eating mostly SF pudding, small curd cottage cheese, string cheese, sliced cheese, yogurt, carnation instant breakfast shakes...I have trouble sometimes when I try to progress, nausea, indigestion. I go back to soft foods and liquids when that happens. I have eaten a few saltines and some toast.
That's about it.

5 weeks?? You are doing great. I wasn't doing chili...gassy stuff was a no-no for me for the first 3 mos. Tuna salad, ricotta, cream of wheat, lots of Unjury protein drink....you can go to the what are you eating forum around June on. My WLS was on 5/17 and started posting a little after that. I was pretty faithful about posting. Good luck and keep it up. 40# loss is great & so is feeling good.
