Default Learning to Trust

Ok maybe i have to much time on my hands again..Here goes another from the heart post.

Just as I sit and review this past year, with all the changes I begin to wonder to myself who can I really trust? As you get thinner and more attractive people start to appear and re appear in your life. You have the doors held open for you, seats pulled out and constant smiles and hellos from people you have seen every day for your whole life and never smiled at you before. People call you and email you say WOW long time no see how about going out one day and catching up. So now who do you trust...Its so hard, i am the type of person who tries my hardest to see the best in people no matter what. I trust to easy and for this reason i get hurt often. So how do I let that guard down. How do i let people into my life that are not going to hurt me? I know life is about chance and youhave to go with your gutt but when my gutt was huge it was always wrong im afraid its worse now small lol...I dont know like i said to much time on m y hands these days. Its in my nature like i said to try to see the best in even the worst of people, but i get fooled easily...

Anyway thanks for listenin to me ramble on........ ANd keep up the good work.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Lisa, I can understand where your coming from a thin person is treated much differently than a larger person. I know this is totally unfair but such is life. First learn to trust yourself and your gut instincts. Just be careful and go slow.
As far as old people coming back into your life, if they liked you heavy they should like you healthy!!

There's a saying here that goes, "Don't deny those who come, don't chase those who go."
I don't think it's a bad thing to have an open heart for everyone who comes. It is sad that there are people who will kick sand into your face (an idiom we use in Japanese) but, let those who will leave, leave.
You definitely will be the richer in the end for your open arms.

I realise, as you physically change, you will have people approach you who ignored you before. Kinda hard to trust what they have on their minds from your point of view.
I think, among them, you will find people who had wanted to be friends with you from before, but not really sure if you will accept them, unsure of themselves in how to approach you. Maybe they were scared of hurting you by something they said without realising it would hurt you.
On the other hand, there must have been people who were around you because you bolstered their feelings. These people will leave you as you start down the journey for a better you and better health. They will go looking for someone else to take your place, to make them feel good. Then again, people who do not feel threatened by who you are now, will converge around you, because they can stand on their own two feet, just as you are learning to stand on your own two feet in a different way from before.

Related to this saying. A couple of years ago, a good friend of mine here re-married her old classmate from elementary school. Both of them had lost their spouses to colon cancer. Now, she, I and a couple of other girls were a foursome, getting together once a month for girls' night. (We are high school classmates.) The other 2 are single, one never married, the other divorced. So, what happened? When my friend annouced her remarriage (incidentally, we all knew her present hubby, as he went to the partner all boys' school of our school), she got a lot of flack and unwanted comments from the two. I even got a phone call from her, during which she broke down sobbing, wondering why they said what they said. (Gosh, why can't people just say, congratulations and just shut up!!) Eventually, she calmed down, sighed and said, "Okay, the saying goes, don't deny those who come, don't chase those who leave. I guess this is what it is." Well, since then, they have kinda made up, and our foursome still get together from time to time. With one major difference. Though my friend has invited everyone to her new home, the two are yet to set foot there. All our other shcool chums have. Her hubby has his chums come along as well-- as I said, we're all school mates of sorts, having attended the boys' and the girls' schools of the same school foundation, so we have kindered spirit. Everytime we have a reason--someone's in town, the cherry blossoms in their yard is in bloom etc etc--we get summons from them and their home has become the veritable gathering place for us. A kind of our class meeting room. I have made many new friends through her new home, and am the richer for it.
