Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  I am new and having surgery in about 6-8 wks
I have tried to get a thread started to discuss my upcoming surgery. Thanks to some of you, I think I am finally getting the hang of navigationg through her. I am 56 soon to be 57 on March 16. I am recently remarried to a wonderful and supportive man. Together we have 5 children, all grown, and 8 grandchildren total. I used to be very athletic but after the end of a 28 year marriage became very depressed and did not care about anything. I have now gained 60 lbs. and miserable. I have had all the pre test done except for a couple. I did have a pulmonary embolism in 2002 and Dr's were skeptical to do the gastric bypass. But now they have agreed I really am a good candidate. Does anyone out there know of anyone that has a blood clot like me BEFORE surgery?

Welcome, congratulations on your tentative date. Make sure you get in lots of liquids and don't dehydrate. If you've already had a clot that pulls up the danger level a bit, so you'll need to be sure to take whatever meds your drs prescribe you, and also be sure if you are being treated for something by drs other than your surgeon, that all your drs know what is going on. ((((((HUGS)))))) May your journey go well.
