Default What 'cha readin right now?

Just thought it would be interesting to take a poll of what's on your nightstand right now....what kind of book are you reading?

Right now I am reading Dracula by Bram Stoker, and boy it is creepy!
I also love to browse cookbooks (my husband says I read them "like they've got a plot!").

Anyone else like to chime in?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi,
I love to read, too... right now I have 4 books started and just can't seem to get back into the reading routine....maybe it's because I still take pain meds for the kidney stent.... I also have a new obsession..... I go on the food network on line and print/save recipes that I'm planning on cooking when I get the stone all taken care of. I can't stop reading recipes, either! I thought it was me, but I guess I'm not the only one! I really can't wait to start doing somne healthy cooking for the entire family.

Lindalou, I got 3 cookbooks for Chiristmas gifts if that tells you anything about that obsession. I also got hooked on the Food Network after my surgery (ironic, huh?). I had never watched it before. I love Rachel Ray! I had to stop watching it so much when the things they were cooking really, really started lookin good! At first it didn't tempt me at all.
I also know what you mean about the pain meds. When I first came home from the hospital and was on the Lortab elixir, I didn't do ANY reading! Watched a lot of movies, though!

Grandiose,
I am feeling much, much better, thank you. I truly believe my problems were due to the BP med combined with being dehydrated resulting in a very low BP. I feel pretty darn good these days!
Sounds like you have a very interesting reading list!

I am reading Judge & Jury by James Patterson, Several books on the WLS that were recommended by someone on this site and just ordered several books from Zooba to read post op. I love to read, the only problem is that I read extremely fast and will stay up all night trying to finish a book and boy do I pay for it the next day .

I've been working on a Good Housekeeping magazine for 3 days If I can get more than 30 seconds to read which I don't seem to get anymore unless I'm sitting on the toilet and even then it doesn't seem like its very peaceful between the puppy and the big dogs fighting for my attention!!!

Bumped top on the list right now is American Diabetes Association's 2007 Clinical Practice Recommendations, as it arrived today.
Halfway through Flags of Our Fathers.
I used to read Patricia Cornwell, but kinda lost interest after she started doing off left and right Scarpetta's lovers.
Haven't missed a volume of J.D.Robb a.k.a Nora Roberts.
Sandra Brown, Linda Howard, Tess Gerritsen.
Alex Delaware, errrr, Jonathan Kellerman.
A Japanese book on colors roughly translated to "100 Peaceful Colors that Adorn the Four Seasons in Japan", a book explaining the origin of the names of the colors, and the natural dyes (not chemical) extracted from plants, flowers, trees, sea shells, and bugs (yup, bugs).

Trying to catch up on my NYers, Food and Wine, and other mags. I have been reading the "Plum" series books but have been on # 3 for a couple of months now.

Lifeguard by James Patterson!!! He is about the only author I can REALLY get into. But I also like to read non fiction books that are about murder and stuff like that.
