Default Weight GAIN while in the hospital

I was a bit floored when I got home from the hospital to see that I had actually gain 15.5 pounds (went from 210 to 225.5) while in the hospital. I had 3 IV infiltrate and had IV's the whole time I was in there but come one 15.5 pounds??

Mind you since I have been home I have dropped down to 219. I still look like the Michelin Man!!!

Please tell me this is a normal thing?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Fluids, bloating, still weak BM, you've gone the gamut, looks like.
You'll be fine in a week or two, don't worry, it' just all water and it's temporary.
Lots of people gain while in the hospital from fluids, no, you're not the only one.

Valerie, I gained too. Doc is right. Just hang on and your body will catch up to what has been done. I know gaining at this stage is a real head trip though. The scale will be moving backwards soon!

Totally normal. Like Doc said, IV fluids, BMs and all that contribute. You are retaining water and that will subside. Dont worry.

I looked like a blimp in the hospital. Even my hands were swollen from the IV fluids!! Sounds pretty "normal" to me.
