Default Help, need suggestions!

I am so disappointed! I got on the scales this am and I haven't lost a pound in 2 1/2 weeks...not even 1/2 a pound!!!

What is the deal? I am only eating a FRACTION of what I used to eat! I cut out the Gatorade and cranberry juice and am drinking SF lemonade. I'm back to work and I have been walking 30 mins/day on the days that I'm off.

HELP!! Has anyone else out there reached a plateau this sooon post op?
I had my surgery 11/30/06.

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Cool I was in your shoes 7 months ago!

Hi sweetie,

first of all (((((((HUG)))))))), second of all yes I have been plateauing on my second month and I was so pissed off because I was doing everything just right and still my scale didn't move a hair!

Well I need to search where was my post on the same problem and would show you the answers back but our body is very smart and it loses weight at the beginning and then stops as a defense thinking that its under starvation so it holds back the the fat burn to keep the energy stored thinking its an emergency! Don't panic honey it will move again and moves so fast, it's a matter of time maybe less than couple of days!

Everybody varies in losing weight I'll give you an example like myself and Deborah (FemmeMode) are one day different and look at our different weight loss rate! I'm OK with it but I'm now a days putting more effort on the workout side and also limiting my carbs to the minimum.

I advice you keep on your right routines, kick your physical activities a little notch and things would go great trust me.

Love,
Hanadi

Okay, first off, take a deep breath and relax, you are doing fine and dandy.

Some will lose steadily and at an even pace, but more hit a plateau around this time or a bit later. A mini plateau.
Your body is trying to adjust to the changes, trying to figure out if it is okay to drop the weight, and still healing what needs to be healed.
Don't decrease your food intake here. Rather, be sure you get in the protein and water that you must, and then, add a few calories more than you have been eating, as your body may be thinking you are starving and so is trying to hold on to the lbs. If you add a little more, and up your exercise a bit more, say 5-10 mins with it, your body will realize everything is fine, and start moving again soon.
Also, if you are around your TOM time, then your body is going to retain fluids and weight. Some even see a gain this time.

What I suggest is, stay off those scales for a while. Forget about it.
The less you see it moving, the less depressing it is.

What about inches, you probably are losing there, instead of the number on the scale. How does your old clothes fit now?

Last but not least, there is NO WAY you will NOT LOSE the way things are now. Unless you are eating tons of chocolates and things like that, you will lose, but your body is not going to go by the schedule you've decided you want to be on. It's going to go its own way.
Keep up the good work you are doing, and the scale will move again.

Wow, you guys are up early!....Well, I guess it's not really early in Kuwait and Japan!!
I really appreciate the input, it's reassuring.
Yes, my clothes are much looser...and I feel good. I'll "keep on keepin on", as they say...and just try to make sure I'm making all good choices in what I eat. I probably need to work on increasing my protein again...I haven't been drinking my shakes.
Thanks so much, just for caring enough to give me that encouragement!

Oh, yes, Hanadi, I do think I remember you lamenting about the not moving scale, as were Deborah and Janae pretty much around the same time...
I think it was some time early summer or something...

HEY TAMMY!
YOUR body is adjusting and at times you will hit these little platues!
THEY stink but if you take out the tape measure you will find
that the scale is not moveing but the inches (visual ones) are melting off.
YOUR body is now adjusting to its new plumbing!
RELAX, follow the rules and the scale will begin to move again
once your body adjusts. THESE happen to everyone at certains
stages and your at the first one!
hugs

Tammy I too hit a road block in my 2mnth and a several since then. Its perfectly normal, so try and relax and stay of the scale a few days and you will drop. Also I found that when I'm not losing weight I'm losing inches so get that tape measure out!!

Yep, Bren...that is what I was gonna say, LOL! I remember the two years I was on Atkins.... I had so many plateaus that it actually got to the point where I looked forward to them because this is when I lost most of my inches....no kidding

Keep your chin up....you are doing great....never lose site of just how far you have already come!

Hugs,
