Does anyone know where I can get one of those cards that say I have had bariatric surgery, and I can order kid's meals in restaurants? I would like to get one of these for when I can start going out again. I would hate to have to pay for a great big meal that I can't eat it all. Anyone with information on this, I would soooo appreciate it if you would let me know how to get one. Thanks so much!!!

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.  |

THE ones that i have for what your talking about were printed up by my surgeon for his patients. ITs signed by him as well in detail kept in my wallet explains the anatomy of my insides. BEST place to inquire would be with your surgeon being you would want his name referenced on this. I know other sites have them to print out but i felt it needed my surgeons name on it. MY surgeon gives them out when your post op at his support meetings. I have never used, truthfully i eat out an appetizer is all i need to fill me. EVEN a kids meal is to much food. MY card says following: SURGICAL PATIENT DIETARY CARD ____________________________ (my name insterted) Has undergone a stomach operation that limits the amount of food it is possible to injest. Please all this person to oder a half porition, or a meal from the children's or senior citzens menu. Thank you for your understanding. ________________________ signed by my surgeon the lower portion of this side has his business card info then if you flip it over it in detail goes over the procedure i had done to my stomach anatomy which i feel is great to have on me for any emergency...its in a plastic holder in my purse alwasy!

If surgeons don't give thme out, I think they should. Maybe you can work with your surgeon and support group to start providing one if they don't.

I got mine from my surgeon,, but have found some places won't accept them anyway. Most places will give you some sort of discount. I have found its just easier to ask for an extra plate and I take a little from my hubby and kids plates.. I might just order like a side of steamed veggies or something.
