Default Long time - missed you all

Hello all!

It has been a very long time since I posted. Seems like the more I've needed to discuss things the more I drifted away from posting. You are all so wonderful and doing such a fantastic job with yourselves that it shames me. You probably want to know why...I mean after all I am losing weight and looking and feeling better physically. Like other's I am dealing with emotional changes also. But the worst part of it all is this; I am not using this tool and gift I have been given.

Yep, I'm failing emotionally. I am still not working out like I am supposed to an although I don't eat very much I eat the highest fat proteins imaginable. I can't do lettuce as it makes me . I do my protein but rather than going for the veggies after I head back to the carbs. And I've found the ones I can tolerate (like that's an accomplishment?) which is not a good thing.

I'm sorry that I have avoided the very people that probably had more wisdom than anywhere else. I'm going to locate a therapist when I get back home (lots of business travel right now) but until then I have not forgotten any of you and I thank you for being here even if I'm not taking advantage of your wisdom and advice.

Hugs,
R Bren

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

((((HUG))))BREN!!!!

GUESS what, me the active poster hear is battling very similar issues.
ITs sometimes easier for me to eat the food im not supposed to have cause it stays down and doesnt make me sick, and im getting bad habits and not useing my tool right. I am not looseing anymore and scared.

I know for me i come here to try to keep the head in the right place but its doesnt always help me. I think therapy is gonna be great for you and find out how to handle this self sabotage.
I dont know its not easy this journey.
AND the further out we get the more difficult it gets.
I really can relate to you and what your going thru.
I am not eating well either.
I am not getting to the gym.
FOR me those carbs are so evil and unless i keep them
way down lo i loose control in my eating.
SOoo hard!
BUT please keep in touch with us your not alone in what your
battling..if you want feel free to PM me anytime.
I am not doinmg the best in my eating either.
and its frustrating.
((((HUG))))))

Hey Bren! Nice to "see" ya!
Don't feel like the "Lone Ranger" on the afore mentioned issues. None of us is perfect and you certainly are not alone! I'm not exercising either. Nor is my food perfect (last night case-in-point).
The important thing is that you keep trying till you get it right. I've been a fat/starch queen since I was 2 yo. I'm 50 now and don't expect those habits to change overnight or in my case, 8 mos. without some falls. By following the protein/veg./fruit rule it certainly hapens less for me.
It took courage for you to post and it takes courage and planning to change our lives.
Stay in touch. We all need each other.

Hey RBREN you know everyone fails sometimes. I still love my carbs and eat them some. The important part is to not do it all the time. I don't have a regular excerise program either. I just do what I can when I can. I hope the therapy works.. keep in touch

RBren, soooo nice to have you back.

Don't beat yourself up on what you haven't been able to do, at least, you know what is good for you, and even with the temptations, I imagine you are doing better than pre op.
You also still have a tool that will stay there for you and will work well for you when you use it right, that will never go away.
When you start straying, the first step to get back is the hardest, the next step will be easier.

Emotional issues hit you harder when you've achieved a certain amount of success, which does suck, and which is why so many surgeons are now beginning to introduce post op therapy into their program. The brain makeover is actually the hardest part of this surgery and journey, not the physical surgery, and the ability to eat less and having to make careful choice of your food.

Come here and vent whenever you can, when you feel a need to extend your hand to that yummy that's within your reach. Reach for your keyboard instead, and type in Renewed Reflections.
Being on the road often for business is tough, too, so just take it one day at a time, make it through just one day at a time, and don't worry about the next day for now.

Come play with us, we miss ya somethin' bad.

I thank you all for your continued kindnesses even with my lapse. I'm hoping that I will get things into better perspective soon.

Warmest thoughts,

Default Awww!

I am sorry to hear that you are currently struggling with everything. I, as well, have been struggling, DUE to a family matter that hopefully is on the road to recovery. You are so very right about the people here though. It is so easy to just dwindle away from here, but I hang in there and post daily most of the time. For one thing, it relaxes me, and none of them shurked all my questions, when I was pre op and post op. I AM INDEBTED TO ALOT OF THE PEOPLE HERE FOR LIFE. I LOVE THEM ALL VERY MUCH. They are just like my family, away from my home. With having lost all the weight I want to lose, I post mainly, now to help the newbies with all their questions, and fears. The way I feel, is that if I can help them out just a little, then I am very happy. I do post to the older ones to, don't get me wrong, but it is the newbies that really touch me these days. I WAS THERE ONCE AND NEEDED ALOT OF SUPPORT, AND I GOT IT HERE. Hope to hear more from you Bren, since you have kinda rejoined us.
