Default Just some food for thought :)

I read a really great article today in WLS Lifestyles ( Welcome to WLS Lifestyles Magazine ) about maintaing pouch health and size. The article said that the maximum volume of food at each meal is approximately 5 ounces for the rest of your life. It went on to say the true value of weighing and measuring your food goes beyond weight loss. It protects the efficacy of your surgery. It assures that your tool does not become stretched out and useless. I had no idea....glad I know now though

Anyways....I thought it was interesting.

There was another interesting point too.....

For those people that like crispy snacks......cookies, crackers and chips. They took out a blender and put in 12 saltines...turned on the blender until it was in crumbs. Pour out the cracker crumbs and put in a slice of cantaloupe or a half an apple then turn on the blender for the same length of time you had for the crackers. You will see that the crackers take up far less space than the fruit that started out around the same size as the dozen. Crispy foods result in our getting hungry much sooner. Dense foods stick with us longer than crispy ones and are typically lower in calories, carbs and fat.

Just some food for thought

Valerie

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You are very welcome Bruce.....I subscribe to the magazine and it is FANTASTIC. It comes out monthly and is well worth the money. I am amazed at how much I learn with each copy.

Hi Lisa....yes I am doing great. For the first time, I walked 2 miles today and it felt great. I am eating well and so far I have been tolerating everything. I bought an abdominal binder and found that it helps out a truckload....specially when I did my 2 miles.....it's great! Anyways, thanks for asking about me......how are you doing?

You are very welcome beckamarie Glad I could post it for us!

Hugs,
Valerie***
