Default Hi all !!!

Sorry I haven't been around much but I was having a lot of problems with the fainting and falling . My brother was diagnosed last year with vasovagal syncope and it looks like that is what is going on with me. I am sitting here with a heart monitor on now so we will see for sure soon. It has gotten to the point that I can't do my job at work as I am a night stocker and I can't climb ladders or haul out heavy pallets with freight and stuff so I am looking at a day job for Kmart. Hopefully they find something for me. I am hoping maybe Doc can describe what this is as I am terrible with medical terms and stuff. I do know that my brother is doing ok now so I am not as worried as I was . I have blacked out a few times and it gets scary. Please pray for me that they get these tests done soon and get me on whatever will help to stop the dizziness and passing out and nauseuos feeling so much. Thanks all and I hope to be on more .

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Vasovagal syncope is also known as vasodepressor syncope.
It is not life threatening per se. In other words, you won't die from this, unless you are unfortunate enough to fall off from a high place or in front of a car or something when you faint.
The fainting may seem to occur without any reason or rhyme, but actually, there are triggers like sudden change in position, or standing on your feet for a long time, which triggers the sudden drop in blood pressure--hence, not enough blood circulating your brain to keep you conscious. Once you are lying down, and the blood flow comes back up to level in your brain, you feel better. Since the drop in blood pressure is temporary, the lack of enough blood in the brain is also temporary, and this is not like a stroke, where the artery is blocked off by a blood clot.
There are medication to alleviate this condition, so once it is properly diagnosed, you should be able to get on with daily life without any problems.

Since many WLSers complain of some degree of faintness and light headedness post op, the susceptibility to this reaction may be triggered by the rapid weightloss. As the years go by and your body adjusts you your new weight and balance, the condition probably will eventualy go away.

((((((HUGS))))))
