Angry I am SO MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!

...at myself...

I was making myself crazy weighing every day, so I made myself wait a few days to weigh myself.

I've been journalling every morsel I eat, getting tons of water, struggling to get my caloric intake UP to 1200, so I figure all should be well when I stepped on the scales today, right?...not so.

I have put on almost 10 lbs!!! I nearly crapped a solid gold brick (although that would likely have dropped a pound or two! LOL)

I could have screamed!! Now not only am I mad at myself for obviously doing SOMETHING wrong, although, not at all sure what that is, been more active lately, that's the only thing that has changed, really...but to add to that, I'm also mad at myself for NOT weighing daily...if I had been, I would have caught this before I got to here!

I was so disgusted, When I sat down to supper tonight and wanted none of it.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

What about PMS, that can make you gain weight (water retention) that will go away once it's over.

Sorry not many people here will support your decision to weigh yourself every day. It is often the straw that breaks the camels back.

How would you stop it had you noticed a gain of a pound every day? What would you have done differently?

Don't micro manage this process. You will loose weight, you will loose inches, you will have more energy, you will gain muscle (and muscle weight) ...

How about your loss of inches in your neck, your waist, your legs, your arms? Did you see a positive change in that as well or are you simply falling into the trap that this is all about 'weight loss"?

Try weighing yourself every month or two instead of every week. I guaranty that you will see some dramatic changes in your weight loss.

It's almost like driving from New York City to Los Angeles and having to take a detour from the direct highway route due to construction that puts you 50 feet back from the total 2,462 mile journey.

You will get there, don't worry about it but don't count all the 50 foot detours you may face along the way as preventing you from reaching your destination.

Tupper Mom - I know everyone says not to weigh each day, but I have to do it. It helps keep me focused. I am not checking the weight loss so much as trying to stay on track. It is a daily reminder of what I am supppose to be doing and why.

Everyone is different and everyone is motivated in different ways. I do much better by weighing myself each day than if I do it every few days.

Weighing daily for process monitoring is usually okay. Weighing every day as an obsession is what everyone tells you to avoid, with good reason.

Now don't interpret what I just said as blanket permission to weigh daily for monitoring so you can obsess over it!!

Same here I do weigh daily , but i dont beat myself up if i gain a pound or two, and i pat myself on the back if I lose a pound or two...my reason for weighing is so I can stay on track also...it just helps me focus to get on those scales right off in the morning and say YES i can do this !!! Good luyck hun..

I'm going to chime in on this one. I weigh myself daily too. I used to obsess over it, though. I've finally come to terms with the fact that sometimes the scale is just evil. LOL So, I no longer obsess over it. I watch it just so that I can stay motivated and keep an eye on things....gives me some sort of illusion of control. But I wouldn't freak out over this 10 if I were you. Continue to watch what you're eating, your water, and your activity. I've put 4 pounds back on in the past week, but I've noticed that my feet look swollen... so I think water has alot to do with it, as I haven't changed anything either. Just relax... it'll come back down. Just stay on the right path, grasshopper....

Ok, I'm gonna catch flack, but here it goes...

I weigh daily and I stopped journalling. I know about where I am in my protein counts, but I stopped obsessing. I had gained 5 lbs in one week following the plan to a T - journalling and exercising, etc. I was so frustrated! I know where you are right now.

Take a small break from something - either journalling or scale - you might find out you did ok. I'm back to journalling, but only as a spot check - I refuse to obsess over this process any longer.

Good luck.

Aimee

I wasn't really obsessing when I was weighing daily, I weighed once a day, if the numbers were the same, or down...awesomeness! If they were up then I took time to think about WHY that might have been...think back...have I been doing less? How are my food journals looking? Drinking enough water? I could usually pin point what's changed, amend it and continue on. This time I stopped weighing for a few days and when I DID weigh, it was 10lbs higher. I generally do measurements once a week, or if I'm stalling (knowing that sometimes if I'm not losing pounds, I'm losing inches... I learned from you brilliant folks! hehehe) Everything measurement wise is exactly the same.

I'm not thinking PMS, Aunt Flo isn't due for at least another couple of weeks, I sometimes get a little heavier in the day or two before, but that's usually just like maybe 3 lbs (at the most, ever)

So I'm still "keeping on, keeping on" eating the same way, keeping active and seeing if it comes back down.

I'm not as mad at myself as I was...I gain nothing by stressing over it all, I just needed to vent at that moment.

Funny thing how perception works...when I got DOWN to this weight I was tickled pink however...when I crept back UP to this weight, I was horrified!!! Silly girl, I guess!

Thank you for ALL of the input, I appreciate every word that you've taken the time to offer...all of you You truly are the very best!!
