Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I know I have been know where around these last few months. Well Its been because Ive been so busy. I have been helping my work out with extra hours and by the time i get home its like okay time to watch tv and then off to bed to do it all over again. I made the 5 month post op mark on this past saturday. I took some pics but havent up loaded them yet. As of today I am 184.5 lbs I have lost 104.5 lbs since surgery and 129.5 sine the start. One thing that has happened is that I can eat more things now. I used to feel obligated to have soup every day. Now thats changed. I only have it when I want it and can eat other things. Like cooked veggies.... I dont no when it happened but its been within the last few weeks. I can also eat more then the 2 oz. I used to eat about 3 oz and be done, now I am eating about 8 oz meals 3 times a day and 2 snacks of 4 oz a day. I am doing great I feel. But the weight loss has definitly slowed down. Im scared its gonna stop but I hope not yet. My hubby and I booked a cruise for October out of NY to southern Caribean. I cant wait because its just after my 1 year surgiversery. also I have one other improvement..... salad!!! I can eat it! its been so long now i cant get enough. But I do have one question, I know its possible to streach your pouch back but is it possible to streach without forcing your self to eat? I just find it strange that one day i was eating so little and stoping quick and today I can eat a small whole meal... Like 6 or 7 year old size.... I dont get it. Thats all for now. Talk to you all soon

5' 6" Height: | I don't have any answers but I can tell you that some days I can eat more then others. Some days I feel as though I have to make myself eat and other days I feel like I'd be able to eat like the "old" days. As long as I do the protein fist rule and drink my water, I'm OK. |

| Super Moderator | Hi, looks like you are getting used to your pouch, and congratulations on your weightloss. Okay, a few points. You do need to start watching what you eat now, the balance and amount. About 6oz is the average, and 6-9oz is the max limit your pouch will stretch naturally post op. So, if you are eating 8oz meals plus snacks, that may be a little bit more than wise. You may need to cut down on your snacks. Try FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal to keep track of what you are eating, both nutrition-wise and calorie-wise. Also, are you taking liquids with your meals? That will make you eat more, because the liquids will flush the food out from the pouch, and make you hungry earlier than is best. If you haven't yet, please read through the Pouch Rules that LisaMarie posted. It is long, but the article should give you the idea of what you need to do, to stay on track, and for your weighloss to continue. Learn to use your pouch wisely, and your success will be assured throughout your life. ((((((((((HUGS))))))))) May your journey go well.
