Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Default Good question!

Now I have a question, from reading the question. Is it necessary to have a bracelet that has gastric bypass surgery on it. I am sure their is a reason for it, just not sure what it is. I think it is a good idea, for the record, just wondering. Very good question.

A bracelet or a pendant. Yes, because if you are in an emergency situation where you are unable to explain about yourself, you are going to need something that medical personnel can see almost immediately and understand what kind of special care the person needs.
If you are unconscious, depending on your status, we (the drs, nurses, med techs, EMT, etc etc) are going to stick a lot of tubes and needles in you. You don't need anyone sticking NG tubes into you blind, since that has the potential of harming your pouch. If you get a rupture due to the NG tube inserted blind, that obviously is going the aggravate your condition further. Also, the fact that you had bypass surgery means, part of your organs are not in their usual place, which in turn means, if you have abdominal injury, how the injury affects your organs may be different from a person with normal layout.

Go for the MedAlerts, please don't give the ER staff a scare that they may have done something that might harm you, which they would never have done, had they known.
It really really scares US when we do something with only the thought to help the person then find out later that it shouldn't have been done because of some specific issue.

This is interesting, I never wold have thought about it. It sounds like a good idea though. I will have to check into it when I am closer to my surgery. Is there a good place to get this type of item?

I never got around to getting one but as the doc said it is important to alert medical staff. However speaking as a medical professional it is best to get the original silver plain looking one then any fancy types. The reason for this is that in an emergency situitation the very fancy more jewlery looking type can be easily overlooked or mistaken for regular jewlery. Just a suggestion....
