Weight Loss Method Controlled Eating & Exercise | Well I went in for my monthly checkup. I lost 7lbs. Not great, but a definate improvement. Been cutting back, eating more fruit and veggies. She was happy about it. I told her about how stressed I had been since my last visit & she put me on an anti-deppresant. I am afraid that I will end up gaining my 7lbs back. I have been working so hard on exercise and the way I have been eating. It is so hard. I feel so hungry all the time. I know it is my brain telling me I am hungry even though I have eaten enough to be full. It is so hard to reprogram myself. I am so depressed about it lately. I feel like the harder I try the worse I feel. I should be happy about the loss but I am feel like it should be more. I haven't noticed a change yet in my clothes. I will hopefully notice that more next month if I lose again.

| Super Moderator | ((((((HUGS))))) Thank you for the update. Well, part of the reason you feel hungry is because your stomach is producing ghrelin which tells the brain that the stomach is empty. One of the reasons obese people have a hard time with dieting is because of this hormone being produced when you cut back on your eating, because your system mistakenly thinks that you are not getting in enough food. It's a rather tough call for obese people, and one of the reasons WLS works. With bypass, the area that produces the hormone is cut off, and this seems to work in curbing its production. So it's not all "in your head", and there is no need to feel guilty about it. It's simply our body working in the way it is programmed--to prepare for famine. Take the hunger in stride, I am sorry that you feel miserable about it, but find other things to do when you feel the hunger coming on, like getting out of the house and going for an exercise walk, or clean and polish the house until it's glowing. Having sleep apnea means you were njot sleeping as well as you should, so that may be part of what is causing your stress and down feeling. Hang in there, you are doing very well, so keep your trust in yourself.
