Talking My Feeding tube is out!

Hi everyone,
I havent been on much, mostly a lurker and mostly because of time. I had to share my news though because its really a milestone for me. I had a feeding tube put in on December 12th because of a stricture/ulcer. Since I had a feeding tubeput in a couple days after surgery also because of a bowl obstruction right after surgery, the Dr's decided to keep this last one in for awhile just in case anything else would happen. I appreciated that because of course I didnt want it out and another out in again.

Well on Feb 27th, I went back for an endoscopy to make sure everything was ok b4 they pulled out the tube. Thing is, I have been feeling great since the end of december. I was only on the tube feedings for 2 weeks. So I went there and was ready for the tube to come out. Can you believe, symptom free...I had another stricture! It had almost closed shut again and I was not sick or anything. Sooo, they said come back the following week and another endoscopy would be done to see how it looked. So I did, and this time they opened one more time to make sure it was open wide enough, and injected it with steriods. Then, I was told I could have my tube out! They said since I was doing great and not having problems, out it can come..and of course I took them up on it..lol It was better getting it out then dealing with it everyday! So I am tube free and able to do more exercises. Im so happy!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thank you Doc and Lisa! I feel wonderful! Sometimes I wonder how much I could have lost w/o the complications ( each time on the feedings I gained some weight). But at the same time I tell myself that every pound counts, and its less than what I started with! I noticed that I have been slowing down a little bit, but now with the tube out, more exercises and hopefully more pounds dropped faster! lol I am very happy with the weight I have lost so far, even if it meant not losing anymore. But I know I will! Thanks for the hugs and care!

I know that has to feel good. I hope that is the last you have to see of any tubes or hospitals for a loooooooong time. (I'm thinking only for plastics, if you elect).
Feel good!
