Just wanted to put a call out to Doc to make sure she and her family are ok. Heard last night there was an earthquack in Japan, not sure where. My thoughts and prayers are with you , your family and all of Japan that may have been effected. Please let us know your ok Doc.....

Hi all.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. My family and I are fine, we didn't feel anything in Tokyo.
The quake was around 9:45AM on Sunday morning here, to the NorthWest of Tokyo, about 200 miles away.
One mortality, and 30 or so serious injuries, and more with lighter injuries.
I was out this evening with some friends, we (including me) actually have extended families in the general vicinity that was hit, but not the area where the damage was worst, of course the earthquake came up, and so far, none of us had heard of any damage directly involving someone we know.
We are grateful, but at the same time, since this country is earthquake prone, just about everyone takes it in stride. The government has decalared the area a disaster area, and it will take some time before the lives of those affected will be back to normal, but in the meanwhile, life here is undisrupted in the rest of Japan.
I wasn't on board most of today (it is late Sunday evening here right now) because I was out all afternoon running some errands, then I got a call from a high school friend for an impromptu dinner gathering before one of them left for vacation time, so I had to get dinner for my family ready, then went out to meet my friends. I got back in about an hour ago.
