Default gotta laugh....

I'm seeing patients today and one came in and exclaimed "oh so you had your baby!"
First of all, the plumbing was removed years ago, secondly, I'm too tired and too old!
Maybe this should be a "wow" moment as in April, the new doctor (medical director) asked me when I was due. Thing is, did this woman (the patient) think I was pregnant for the last year????!!!!

Then...I get home and go to pull out one of my 5X tees for bed. I got it on and thought, "dang, this thing shrunk" to find out it was one of my regular tee shirts! Going to sleep in it anyways!

So, I guess there is some progress finally showing. Amazing how I went from looking pregnant in the beginning of December to post-birth! LOL

Oh, and I've made the decision that I'm going to work on doing things for "me". That is not to sound selfish, but what I mean, is that those things that I've always put off because I've done for others...I'm going to really focus on me and my needs/wants, etc. For starters, I finally, at age 46, got the gap in my front teeth fixed!

From here on out, I will continue to work on things on the inside and outside!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

OMG! he will start school as soon as the training of staff has taken place (to deal with his medical needs), I am going to finish my study, and am working on me as we speak, so GOOD FOR YOU!!!! Too many women put others first for so long that they forget who they are.

LOL honey I have to laugh with you! Now I wasnt asked this at the same job i had when I had surgery. I took another job after surgery and was a nurse floater in a big clinic and was working for the clinics surgeons one week. That entire week I was asked several times by different women when my baby was due.... Now this was after I was well over 100 pounds down. I had went down in top sizes and pants but handent changed the size like I should have and they were way to big. The tops on me looked like maturnity evidently. That Friday when the last woman said it to me I did laugh like I did all week and even mentioned it to the Dr. She even said well I was going to ask you but then rethought it come to find out she used to do RNY also. She didnt do it no longer because the clinic wouldnt cover the insurance for it. She would have to cover that all on her own. The malpractice part. She did tell me who she prefered to send her patience to if it was her sending. Sure enough it is one that does not take any type of insurance even if they would pay for it.

So I know the thing of....... whens your baby due? Not funny but for me I was able to laugh about it and and even told them it wasnt a baby It was all skin I would wobble it at them witthout showing them any skin LOL. I did get 5 new tops that weekend from my hubby and that Wends I come home to 5 more from him they were waiting on my bed. He always could pick out very nice scrub tops.

So glad you have a sense of humor about it. I am still waiting for someone to say something at work that doesn't know about the surgery (and there are only a handful of people that know) but so far, no one has commented, but I have stopped getting the comments about my hair...lol.

Keep up the good work Dr. Mel!

So was it a girl or a boy? lol.... and I'm laughing with you not at you because I've been there also! It's good that you can laugh now that your weight is coming off because it doesn't seem so funny when you're heavy and still pregnant! It's also good that you are taking time for yourself. Congrats!

Love yourself first. If YOU aren't happy in the true sense, you can't make others happy in the true sense, either.
Make sure you shell out some *Me* time no matter how busy you are. That's one of the essences for success.

A few years ago I was at a networking reception and I was horsing into a few glasses of wine. I must have had 3 or 4 over the course of the event. I had just met this prospective client and was busy 'networking' with her. The waiter came by and refilled my glass and she said "I hope you don't think I'm speaking out of line, but should you be drinking in your condition?" I nearly choked on my wine. My colleague was with me who knew I wasn't pregnant and she didn't know where to look. Thanks to the Dutch courage I just turned to her and said 'I am not pregnant' (without it I would have fled to the bathroom for a quick cry) she was MORTIFIED and couldn't get away from me fast enough!! It was actually quite funny - the look of horror on her face as I happily accepted more wine was priceless! However, there were times I was asked when I was due and I just wanted to curl up into a ball of shame. I never want that to happen again. I never want to be ashamed of my body again. This is why I am on this journey......
