| update for me!! Hello all!! I think it has been for ever since I have been on here! I wanted to post an update. I see a lot of new names on here I am glad to see some familiar names too!!! Well as of March 30 I am officially a stay at home mom. I quit my job after 7 years. We decided I needed to be home more with the kiddos. It is very scary but I am adjusting. . I went to the doctor today for my 5th visit in my 6mos supervised weight loss. I have been dieting for 2 months straight. It has been so hard but I guess so rewarding. I am down another 13lbs!!!! Yay me!! I have been exercizing a lot more since I have been off work and eating bett all together. I wanted to say thanks for all of the support I receive here. I will keep posting and keep ya'll updated. I am hoping that after my visit next month my dr will write her approval letter and hopefully get my surgery in June. I am sure the closer I get the more questions I will have. . Have a great weekend!! Happy Friday! |

Ms Mom,
I have never understood why the insurance comanies make you do that. You have spent all your life trying to lose weight have finally made the desision to have the WLS and then have to spend another 6 months trying for them to loss weight, just to make them happy.
Well great job on the weight loss! I am one of the lucky ones that does not have to do that, but I have still made some life style changes prior to surgery. I've started Curves and started to eat better. We will see what that does when I go back for my next clinic visit. It is such a long process anyways. Good luck with your process. I also hope that my surgery will be in June so maybe we will be on the other side together.

Good for you! I wish I could quit my job, but with my husband retired military and me being the primary breadwinner it's out of the question. Congrats on the weight loss too. It will be a much easier surgery for you.

| Congrats on being able to stay home and devote your time to your kiddies. Nothing like being home and having nothing to worry about except your kids. I did it for a couple of years and it was such a special time. I only work 2 days a week so technically I am still mostly home. You will see that it is more important if you are capable of giving time to your kids then material things. They grow up to fast. I know that i have had to sacrafice alot in order to be home with them, but its so worth it. Good for you.
Good luck with the rest of the journey....pulling for you to get your aproval and your surgery soon.

Take a read of Oxymoronic Question, and you'll get some answers there.
Also, actually, many of the surgeons themselves, not just the insurance co, are now requiring their patients to do this, to insure the success of the surgery.

| Thanks Doc
Thanks Doc,
Some of the reasons given in that list of post is why I am changing my life style now. I want to make sure i can do it after surgery, and I need to get my liver size down. I was also told that I could not gain any weight before surgery. The did not care if I stayed the same, just could not gain. They would also a little disappointed that I had not been doing any exersice at all. So I started at Curves. I'm hoping to find a nice loss when I go back for my second appoint with the doctors.
