Default No Energy

Am I weird or what. I am 18 months post op and have never had the increase in energy that everyone else seems to have had. I take everything I am supposed to take, but still have less energy than a slug. I would have thought going from 413 pounds to 223 would give me a bit more energy, but not yet. I mention this to each of my doctors. One said to add B6, so I did-nothing. Another said I might need a low dose of thyroid med even though my TSH is fine according to the blood tests-again nothing. My bariatrician said to up my carbs a bit-no energy, but I gained 15 pounds going from 50-100 grams a day. Any other suggestions? Or am I just destined to always be a slug?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on your weightloss, way to go, you are doing so very well!!

If your physical data and exams show up nothing, then, is there any possibility you have depression?
Check out this thread, Depression? and read up some on the disucussion going on there.
Quite often, rapid post op weightloss brings on depression, even with those who have never had issues with depression before.
So, if physical factors have been ruled out, then, maybe it is time for your to ask your drs about this.

(((((((((HUGS)))))))) May your journey go well.

I agree very much with the girls yarnlady. If all the physical factors have been ruled out, I would think depression is playing some part in what you are feeling. I can speak from current experience as well. I have little energy, and my tests came back in the normal range as well. I am going through issues right now in my life, causing a bit of depression. I have noticed I have to push myself to exercise regularly during the day. I to, thought about it, and thought, what in the world is going on? I have lost all this weight, and have little to no energy. I know for fact, that is it the depression mode I am in right now through all of this issues I am currently going through. It is worth a shot yarnlady, to maybe reavulate your life in general to see if their may be something there, or maybe as Doc mentioned, it is the rapid weightloss to. I don't mean to suggest that your life is not going well, yarnlady, at all. It probably is. It was just a thought I had. I think a big part of the people here experience ups and downs after surgery though to. If that is the case, it does get better. HANG IN THERE!
