| Finally figured out what was wrong...
Hello everyone,
Sorry I have not been around as much lately as I would like to, but life happens, and I just don't have all the time on my hands as I did right after the surgery.
But anyway, just wanted to give you all an update. I went to see my surgeon yesterday, because I was having problems that I thought was a stomach virus, but when it lasted longer than two weeks, I knew I had to call the doctor.
Well, at the appt, I told him all my symptoms (nausea, vomiting a LOT of food at a time, and having the worst tasting burps you could ever imagine), he sent me to get a scope.
Today, I went to get the scope, and turns out that I have a stricture, but not the kind that most get, to where when they eat or drink they vomit immediately, but one on the opening that goes to my intestine! The doc that did the scope today told me that the hole was only a "pin size", and couldn't even get the scope in there! so therefore, I wasn't passing anything solid, which would explain the liquid stools. So the food was just sitting in my pouch, and not digesting, and turning rotten! Thats why I had the nasty burps, and vomiting 2 to 3 days of food at a time. He told me that I will have to have several dialations to open it up enough to pass solid foods through, BUT I feel soooooo much better already! I can eat only purreed foods as of now, but I have another dialation on Wed. of next week.... but this just goes to show you that if you feel there is something wrong, CALL YOUR SURGEON!!!! I actually did call my docs office several times, but I would always get the nurse, and she would tell me some crap like, you are eating too much, or just go back to bland foods... when i KNEW something was not right.... so if you have to, INSIST on speaking with the surgeon!
But I'm glad that I'm on my way to being better, and I can't wait to get this extra 40 lbs off, cause as I was discussing with fr1endly2, my body has gone into starvation mode, because I wasnt getting any food digested, and it has caused me to plateu badly...but anyway, thanks for listening to me ramble... or i guess i mean reading me ramble.. LOL
Hope you all have a great weekend! I know I will!!! |

| Mornin Phyllis!
Hello there, and welcome back. What you posted was not rambling at all. Boy, you did have an issue huh? I am so glad that it is currently being taken care of. Isn't that just like some of the nurses to tell you that you are doing something wrong, so to speak. No offense to the nurses on here, but good grief, who knows their body better than the person living in it. HANG IN THERE KIDDO. Now that the problem has been recognized, you can do what you wanted to do.....start losing those extra pounds once again. Good Luck, and again, I am glad to hear your problem has been taken care of.

Glad to hear you have found out what is wrong ...Very important as you said to call you doc for any questions you have. Many times if you call the office you will get staff, sometimes not even nurses giving you advice. While people mean well, even on the boards its so important to talk to professionals when issues arrise. While its nice and all, insist on talking to your surgeon. As for the stalling, your body will adjust and your weight will begin to drop again. Also remember when we are not loosing weight many times we are loosing inches. Hang in there. Glad you are on the way to feeling better.

Oh my honey...... I am sorry you have had to go through this. Bless your heart. I am a person who is what they call -dont laugh- in tune with there body. What I mean is you KNOW somthing is not right. I laughed the first time a DR told me this. But have found out Yea im in tune. Im glad they found out what is going on with you and now they can fix it.
Im just now learing about strictures and stuff. I still have to do the research on them. This goes to show us that even after surgery we need to be very vocal to our Drs about pain or symptoms were having that are just not right. You take care honey and I hope this post finds you feeling better.

I just wanted to thank everyone for thier encouraging posts! You all mean so much to me, and although I don't post as much as I used to, I still find time to read most of all the new posts. I thank God that you all are here for support and encouragment!
I got my second dialation this past Wed. and I have my third on the 15th. I feel SOOOOOOO much better already! It is so nice to be able to eat and not feel yucky all the time! And since I have started passing food again, I have lost 5 pounds! Im so stoked! LOL
Well, I hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend, the hubby and I and some of our friends are going to the drive-in to see Spiderman 3 and Ghostrider, I can't wait.... I love the drive-in, it reminds me of my childhood, my dad took us EVERY weekend during the summer. I miss those days.
Talk to y'all later!!!!
