Default I am back!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone thanks for all the warm wishes, I am back and doing great!

So, let me tell you how it went ................

I got to the hospital nervous and excited, checked in, gown on, IV's in and the chaos began. The Doc came in to put me out he said I am going to give you something to relax you while we head into the operating room and that is all I remember until they were waking me up in recovery. I really had little or no pain. I spent the night in recovery because I have sleep apnea and I don't do the C-PAP machine so they wanted to watch me, I barely kept my eyes open all day. The next morning they woke me up to freshen me up and have me to sit up for 20 minutes because that was the rule I needed to be able to up for 20 minutes in order to do the swallow test. I stayed up for 45 minutes excited and ready for the swallow test until I looked at the clock and it said 4:50 so I got back in the bed and slept until about 7:30 and then I anxiously awaited for the test. Finally at 9:00 they came to get me for the test, past the test but still did not get into a room until @ 2:30, I was bored out of my mind and agravated because they kept harrassing me about pushing the darn pain pump they could not believe I was not in pain. finally in the privacy of my own room, I sat up and watched t.v. Wednesday around 5 I was discharged, got my pain meds filled just in case - never needed it and I have been up an walking, washing dishes and just being relieved and happy. My sister has kept my kids because she said I needed the break, that was nice but I miss them and have realized how quiet the house has been. LOL I got up this morning and went to church and even though I have another week off from work I am going back tomorrow because I am bored at home.

Well that is it sorry it was so long, I will check back in later with you guys.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

CONGRATS and welcome home looser! So happy to hear you are doing so well. Just be careful not to overexert yourself because you are feeling so well. I tend to do that often. Just try to take it easy because although you are feeling so good, your body on the inside has a lot of healing to still do. So happy for you. Keep us posted.

Congratulations on joining the Loser's Bench.

However much you are feeling fine, take things easy and get as much rest in as you can, if you overdo it now, you may get hit hard, later.
You had major surgery, you had your innards re-arranged, and you are still healing inside--the healing will take some time to be complete, and at less than a week out, your staples are not completely fused. Please understand that your having passed the leak test doen't mean your stoma has completed its healing. It only means that the staple lines are intact well enough that there is not leak. Your new pouch and the bypass are still only held together by the staples, and not the scar tissues that will eventually hold the stoma together.
If you still have one week off from work, take that one week as a treat to yourself.

If you had, say, lung or heart surgery, would you be moving about as you are now, just because you are feeling well? I'd think your answer would be a resounding "NO". Do you know that on a scale of 10, where heart bypass surgery is 10, gastric bypass is a whopping 8? So, take things easy, stick to your surgeon's instructions to a T, don't venture out on yourself unless your surgeon told you it's fine to do so.

(((((((HUGS))))))) May your journey go well!!

Rozzy, Doc is right, I went back to work 3 wks instead of 4 and lasted only 2 half days and I, like you had no trouble with pain and felt terrific, just bored out of my freakin' mind. Last week was my 1st full week back and oh I was soooo tired. Plus I developed a UTI and was eating my 2oz too fast and got bad tummy aches and had to go back one square to full liquids for 3-4 days. I am doing much better now. I pray that you do the same and that all goes well. Just remember it has a funny way of catching up with you...who knew??? Bless you and your journey.

Welcome back Rozzy, glad to hear all went well. But listen to Doc and the rest of us when we tell you to slow down a bit. I was like you and was running all over the place, trust me your body will let you know when you are doing too much. It's important to let your body heal. DianeB

Welcome back Rozzy! You were definitely in my thoughts.... I'm so glad to hear that you are doing so well! I'm feeling pretty well too, but I don't think I'll be "rushing" back to work anytime too soon. They gave me any where between 4-8 weeks off, and I'm taking them! LOL Stay at home and enjoy the first part of spring/summer! You deserve it!!
I posted a "welcome back" to you in a different place, but I wanted to make sure you would see this.
Take care and good luck....
-Jess

Red face Rozzy...Rozzy!

I'm in full agreement with the Doc and the others. You NEED to slow down . I too was feeling pretty good after wls. No pain, etc., doing all the things that your doin' but it does catch up to you. You will get tired fast, you could get that dreaded light-headiness, etc. when you over do it. Take the time that is given you. Don't rush back. I was off for 6.5 weeks to get myself together, believe me you need that time. It's very improtant for the healing process. TAKE IT! Keep us informed.

Happy Losing!

Debbie

Hey gang, thanks for the warm welcome back. I am listening to you all, I am not going in to work until Wed and Fri. and only 1/2 days then. But I am going crazy at home and at least at work I don't get caught up in tv and forget to drink my yuckie water. LOL

I am slowing down. I did the same thing with my 2 previous c-sections, my body is just crazy. LOL
