Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hang in there, it will come back, since you're almost at the Century Club mark, I'd say not too long a wait now.

So sorry you are going through the hair loss stage Michele I am so scared about that myself--I am only one month out and I swear some of my hair is falling out already. I know they say it is usually around the three month period and that it ends around year one, I am dreading this so much, having such thin hair as it is. But then I think--what the heck, I've always wanted to be thin and healthy, guess I can wear a scarf or wig!! LOL Hang in there Michele--your hair will start growing back soon. DianeB

Michele, my hairdresser told me to use a product called Nioxin. It slows down hair loss and stimulates new growth. She told me she had two clients use it during chemo treatments and it really slowed down the loss. You have to get it online or through a hairdresser though. You might try Sally Beauty Supply and see if they have a generic product.

Oh BTW it is a shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment.

It is a tough stage that most of us have to endure....But trust me everyone is noticing how great you look and prob only you are paying much attention to the hair. Its a rough stage to go through. I actually go through it after i have any type of surgery. The stress on the body combined with the starvation mode do it to me. But it will come back soon. Hang in there......Im sure you are looking amazing.... LittleLisaMarie

HANG in there michelle! ITS a nasty stage of the surgery that most of us go thru and find the strength to get thru.
I lost from between months three and four all the way thru my 12 months and i was very careful on my protein intakes. IT happens, its not easy. MY hairdresser had me use the NIOXIN, i took the biotin well before...its come back in but honestly my hair is no were as thick as it was.....
who knows i wear it shorter...
and have even lately changed the style....
hang in there it really stinks this phase.

WOW ur going for a new hairdo???
NOW cool....
I will admit post op is the shortest
i have worn my hair in a long time.
NOW im growing out the layers so
hopefully i should see my fullness returning!
I mean come on im 2 years post op in a few
weeks.....
TAKE your biotin i found it made my new
growth hair grow in very healthy. AND i use
all those big sexy hair products to give the illusion
of fullness during the months and months of thinning.
FOR me changeing the product helped as my hair would
get immuned to one speicific and not respond as well
as when i changed and used a variety of things to help!
HANG in there and i am excited to see some
pics as soon as you take a plunge and change your
hair style!
its fun be daring!

New hairdo woo hoo! I got mine all cut off about two weeks ago. I need to get some pictures and post. It really was the best thing I have done in a while. I don't have to do all the fluffing and primping to try and get it to look fuller. The shorter it is the fuller it looks on it's own. Funny because I decided to grow it out because I thought it made my face look smaller, but now I think the opposite!

[sigh] My hair is REALLY falling out--and I'm on a HI-PROTEIN/LOW CARB eating plan!!! Sure I've lost 70 lbs--but I have ANOTHER 78 to go. What, am I going to be bald?

When I was 17 I STARVED myself and lost 67 lbs in 4 mos. I lost hair then also. It grew back that time, so I'm hoping!

I do have a girlfriend though, who lost 80 lbs pretty rapidly and lost SO much of her (very dark) hair that you could always see her scalp shining through. She's been in maintenance for YEARS, but her HAIR never did come back!

In the long view, there are many worse things that could happen than losing some hair. Still I pray we all get our "Crowning Glory" back!!! Pretty hair is SUCH fun.

XOXO
Mya
