Question arthritis anyone?

I was wondering if anyone out there has arthritis? I was just diagnosed with moderate to severe in my lower spine. I start PT next week. Because of the WLS, no anti-inflams. What do I do about the pain? In the last week it has become quite painful, especially in the PM and AM.
Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know of anyone with this problem?
Thanks.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I have it but not in my spine. Goodness. Its good to get on meds to help with it. You be careful with it in your spine. Make sure when you body tells you no more you listen to it. I hope someone has a better answer for you Kat.

(((((HUGS)))))
Does Tylenol relieve your pain? If so, that is best.
Unfortunately, most of the meds used to relieve pain from arthritis are a no-no, from NSAIDs to steroids. Do you have a corsette? If you do, using that should help, but since you've lost considerable weight, you may need to have it adjusted. Stress from work will aggravate the pain, too, so maybe you could ask for a muscle relaxant that doesn't have any tranquilizers in it (some muscle relaxants come combined with tranqs, you know, while others are not) as tranqs may not sit well with you.
I think some drs prescribe vicodin, but I've also heard directly and seen some WLSers post having bad experiences with it, bordering to abuse, so, it's best to use that only as a last resort.
A hot bath or shower often helps relieve the pain for a while, too.

Hope this helps.

Well they placed me on Celebrex and Ultram. The Ultram i take as needed with 2 tylenol. Its a great help. Trust me on the arthritis thing. It HURTS !!!!!!! My the worst place I can say that bothers me the most because i use it is my pointing finger and middle finger on my right hand. I use them constantly.

Kat, you really need to check with your surgeon on this, but the pharmasist at my surgery center told me that when I get headaches or pains and Tylenol will not take care of it, it is okay to use Advil liquid gels.

She said the reason the NSAIDS are a no no is because they sit in the stomach for a while while disolving and the ulcer forms under the tablet. She said at least the liquid gels coat the whole stomach and do not sit in one spot. But be sure to check with your surgeon.
