Question What am I doing wrong to gain 4 lbs?

Help me! I gained 4 lbs this week and my sugars went up to 164 this AM. I did have potato ham soup last night so that migh account for the sugars. BUT, I have ate right this week, at least I thought I did. I am so upset as this is the 1st upset in my weight loss and I don't know what I did. I lose nicely when I am on liquids but I am almost 6 weeks out...I should be moving on. What happened?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

is it possibly 'that time of the month' issue? My first 9 mos I would go up and down, up and down...I had a lot of hormonal issues and finally had a hystero with ovaries left in so I STILL will go up 3 lbs when I cycle..pms is still part of my life.. darnit!

sometimes the answer is simple...but as they always say go back to the basics..write it all down to make sure there's not a hidden issue..water water water water..oh yeah did I say water?

you're doing great! so don't let it get ya down hon!

(((((((HUGS)))))) Donna.
As BreeChick says, don't panic, relax and take a deep breath.
Weight gained over a short period of time is usually due to bloating--retention of fluids, and not due to increase in the fatty tissue of your body.
If you've got your protein in first, 60g a day, or whatever your surgeon says, and the 64oz (or whatever your surgeon says) in, then, things should start rolling again soon.
Most likely, your body is upset and concerned over your sudden weightloss and trying to control things and not letting loose. Try upping your protein and water a little bit, that may work.
Also get in a couple of good night's rest, don't stress, as stress is another factor for retaining weight.

it happens just relax and those pounds will come off.
SOMETIMEs things we eat will cause us a retain...to much salt,
or even that good ole monthly women thing that goes on.
DONT stress it....
just watch ur eating...
to be sure there are hidden sneak ups.
USE FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal or get in the thread
of what you been eating. SOMETHING about writeing it
down helps!
I find fitday helps cause it breaks things into carbs, proteins, calories
and u can find things.
GOOD LUCK! and try to get in some extra water today
to wash the evils out.

I wanna blame it on sodium ! LOL. Just guessing here honey. The ham probally did some water retention. Unless it was homemade soup it would have had alot in it in processing. Think about possible sodium intake in just the last few days.Im still Preop but I would think we could still hold fluid like that still afterwards? Im sure not as much until we got were we could eat more normal foods. I know after eating orential meals out..... im so fluid packed its unreal. It used to never bother me but it does now to extremes. Possibitly? Mabye? Even if not...... you have did great and im sure between everyone here and you its gonna be figured out. Relax like they said and just do as they tell ya to do . Have a nice day Donna.

Thank you MsVickie and to all. The salt thing makes sense and that is a huge issue so I will really watch and Lisa, I am pushing the fluids. Thank God it is the weekend and it is going to be raining here so I am staying near the potty and just sip, sip, sipping away. Have a great weekend everyone!

I agree with MsVickie, if I eat something very salty I will gain a couple of pounds and then a few days later its gone again. Also your body is reacting to you losing so much weight so quickly! So try to relax your doing fine

Yes. I agree with everyone else. That's why I get on the scale very infrequently. It drives me crazy...and I let it. lol
