| Reflecting I have been sitting here for the past few days reflecting on the past year and all of the changes that have happened to me.
On November 22nd 2010, I had my RNY. Never in a million years did I ever think that I would weigh 119 pounds. Holey ta moley! that is almost 1/2 of what I was 1 year ago.
I started out at 230 pounds and was hoping for 150 lbs.
I feel so much better. I can bend over and tie my shoes.
I can get down on the floor, and still get up, without having to crawl over to the table and pull myself up.
I can wrap a normal size bath towel around me and it covers me and more.
I have taken out the sexy nighties- still to cold to wear them but they are out and fitting.
I have gone from a size 20 to a size 4. WOW! that is amazing.
My belly no longer touches the steering wheel in the car.
I actually can eat a normal amount of food. Well not really, but way less then before and I am full.
My husband thinks I am looking sexy. Hell, I am thinking I am sexy. LOL.
My knees don't hurt anymore. No more acid reflux. No more sleep apnea.
No more peeing my pants when I laugh, jump, sneeze or bend over. LOL.
My relationship with my husband is the best it has been in years. Sex life is great.
The negative are few - But can be annoying. My boobs have flattened and hang low. Isn't there a song about that?
The excess skin on my butt gets pinched when I sit, and it really is a pain in the A$$.
My grocery bill has gone down, and my clothing bill has gone up.
I just plain feel good, both physically, mentally, and emotionally. I have not felt this good in years.
I can't believe what this has done for me, and my family. I just can't put into words how good I feel.
Sure, I still have bad days. But I am having way more good days. This surgery has brought me so many positives.
This Friday, I go in for my 1 year check up. Blood work, weight, measurements, pictures, the whole works.
I am already trying to decide what outfit I am gonna wear. I am going to show it off, for the pictures.
I want to thank all of you for always being here to listen, and share your lives with me.
Thanks for all that you do for me and others. You were all here when I was a newbie and didn't know what to do. Now I am doing the same. What a year it has been.
I love all of you. |

Wow...that's so awesome...lol..I especially liked the remark about pulling yourself up with the table...lol...I crawl all the way to the sofa on my butt..the dogs think it's a game...lol...I'm so looking forward to doing all those wonderful things you mentioned and then some. One of my future goals is to go sky diving in march 2013. Thank you for sharing and for giving me so much to look forward too.

Of the 15 or so wonderful things you list, only a couple of them talk about your weight. We may call it "weight loss" surgery, but this is more like "life renewal" surgery!! The weight loss is just a highly visible (and desirable) side effect.
You've done well, Kathy!! Now all you have to do is maintain for the rest of your life!
