| Tomorrow is the big day and I am getting slightly nervous. The worst thing about surgery for me is waking up. When I had my gallbladder out I remember waking up and breathing really fast and shallow. When they told me to take a deep breath I did but it hurt so I went back to the other. They had to tell me a couple of times to breathe deep before it didn't hurt anymore. So all in all not too bad, the time before I woke up crying and couldn't stop. I was only 20 then, so maybe youth had something to do with it. One of my employees just turned 29 and she said she always wakes up crying and can not stop, nothing hurts, just can't stop crying.I took my first dose of Phoso Soda an hour ago. Nothing yet, my next is 2 hours away. I'm sure I will be playing Beethovens' 5th Movement later on this evening. LOLAnyway, I got new slippers, robe and jammies for the big day. I don't know about showering but the pamphlet they gave me said to bring soap, shampoo and conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, deodarant, and a hair brush. My surgery center told me to bring all my meds in thier original containers or the hospital will provide them but charge me for them. And I was told to bring comfortable elastic waist pants. I am planning on bring some loose underpants too. I am packing the chapstick, and I found something by Blistix called infusion balm. It is an oil like liquid that has a tube and big roller ball for application. I'm taking that too. Anything else I'm missing? ![]()

I can relate to the breathing issue... when i woke up in recovery that was what i remember them telling me to breath ... and annoying me all the time about that during recovery ( i had undiagnsed apnea) so when i slept i wasnt breathing and it triggered the alarms... but no biggie i just didnt sleep to much in the hosptiol. Well i just want to send you lots and lots of good vibes and positive thoughts. I look forward to seeing you on the looseing side and my wishes for a text book perfect uncomplicated surgery. I didnt start going from the phoso stuff till 2 am......and that woke me and was up the rest of the night and AM going and going!!!eeks. As far as a real shower i wasnt allowed in the hospitol, glad you got your blistek love the stuff....dont know if calls are an issue from your hospitol but my home was not considered a local call and having a 20 dollar call card sure came in handy for me to call home and was glad i brought one. Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hmmm. I dont think I used half the stuff they told me to pack. I wasnt allowed to shower. I wasnt allowed to wear "underthings" until they removed the catheter. They had some regulation about slippers and socks where you cant wear your own. They provided these socks with the rubber coles to walk tohe halls. I guess someone slipped and fell??? Lip balm is a good idea. I think the day following surgery was rough because iat that point i hadnt had anything to drink since 7pm the night before...can you say parched??? lol! All of the soap and toothpaste and everything was provided for me by the hospital. And yes they did ask me to bring my meds, however they didnt dose them for me. They just asked me if i took it and when. And I never heard of the phoso soda? No clue what that is... OH and as for waking up after being "under" I was just VERY confused. I remember blinking a few times and a nurse telling me everything went fine and that i was in recovery. They then moved me to my room when i went right back to sleep for another hour or so. After that...THEY MADE ME WALK. I was angry. Not because of pain, but because they disrupted my sleep lol! You will do fine. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Good luck tomorrow hon!~ How exciting!!! One thing I found helpful and it's silly but I brought my OWN pillow that was firm to hold against my stomach (had a 1.5 hrs drive home) but I also had open. Breathing deep..important thing and you are going to do good I just know it!!

| okay, I am officially nervous. I slept great, I was probably exhausted from the cleaning out. Not having anything to eat or drink this morning has me a little jittery but I think it's also a case of nerves. I'll let you guys know how it went when I get home!
