| Ok Why Am I Freezing In Mid May???
Hi everyone. Hope you are all doing well. I guess its mother natures way of telling me to slow down just a bit. I have been running and running all over with the nice weather. I was so tired yesturday me and my little man fell asleep for almost an hour on the couch together mid afternoon, something I NEVER CAN DO is sleep during the day. So its like 50 degrees out and windy and damp and just yucky. So i will take that as a sign to try to relax a bit today. However I have a birthday party tonight for the two little men, one just turned 4 on May 5th and the other will be 5 on May 24th...so we do a birthday party right in the middle. We invited alot of kiddies and so far a definite 25 of them are comming AHHHHHHHHHHH...
Thank God for Mcdonalds..... Hope everyone is well..
Im also writing to wish congrats to all who have joined the loosers bench in the last couple of weeks in case i missed a post or two.
I want to wish all that have surgeries comming up the best of luck for textbook surgeries and quick and easy recoveries.
Also congrats to all the anniversaries that are approaching or just past.
I also want to send my thoughts and prayers to Lisa and her tough situitation. I seem to keep missing everyone online with not being home to much but you are ALL in my thoughts and prayers always.
Love Ya
LittleLisaMarie

Thanks Doc..yes they do grow fast. It is very exciting and very scary at the same time. I am trying to absorb as much as I can from them while I still can. All 4 of them are wonderful children and I am truely blessed to have them all in my life. They are my motivation and inspiration for everything good I do. So I try to make as many memories for them as I can so when they grow and have their own families they can do the same.

My dad used to say when we got a chilly day it was to freeze the ticks up so there wouldnt be so many in the summer. LOL yall probally dont have to worry about that up there. I was gonna ask you Lisa Marie....have you noticed you stay colder now that you dont have the weight on you as insulation? My cousin tells me this contantaly. She was always overweight and I could go to her house in the dead of winter and she would have the thermostat on 58. It never moved from that summer or winter. Now that she has had it done.....the heat will run you out of her home. I have to stay outside in the winter most of the visit. LOL

| I too have been freezing, I always have my fan on me, at work, home, in the car. But since surgery, I have worn sweaters, jackets, etc and blankets on the bed. I haven't lost that much weight so I don't buy into the lost insulation theory. I did ask my WLS group leader and she told us that it is hormonal. It has to do with the surgury and the shock to you system and having to re-regulate everything. Doc, it that your take or is it also having to do with the amount of wr we are losing? Anyway, it should be a very interesting summer. Good luck all. Lisa, so glad to have you back, I have you in my thoughts and prayers as well as with the wife. God Bless You. |

Well, fat, as well as being insulation, also generates heat, so that would contribute to feeling cold, as well. As well as your wacky hormones. Losing at the speed y'all are, isn't something our body is naturally geared to, so you get all sorts of reactions.
Just be careful, just because a heck of a lot happens with this surgery without any other medical issues, don't assume that when something bothers you, it's due to the surgery. Be sure to ask your surgeon if it is normal or not, especially if things don't seem to get better after time. It may be due to your weightloss, but you may be having other medical issues as well.

I am cold too. lol! the change in weather doesnt help. I assumed it was due to iron deficiency and that it was a normal part of the WLS adventure. But I'm going to have my dr explain further at my 1 month check up (a few days late lol) next week.
Thanks for the heads up doc!
