Hi friends, I haven't been on in a few days because of the ice storm that hit us. It looks like a war zone and now we may be hit with a wind storm tonight which will probably topple more trees and make a bad situation worse. We are on our 4th day without power or water but at least they cleared the tree that blocked us in. Normally this situation wouldn't bother me so much but only being a week out from having surgery and battling a bad sinus infection and diarrhea that makes me worry about getting dehydrated again is enough to make me cry. I was finally able to get to a walk in clinic yesterday and on antibiotics but the doctor wouldn't prescribe liquid pain medication and he made me feel like "less then" for having had wls and wouldn't listen to my surgeons advice for me to get some iv fluids. My surgeon is now out of town for a week. I was so mad when I left there!
Right now my daughter and I are at a Starbucks to use a little Internet and communicate to the outside world. I'm trying to type on my little kindle so forgive any typos. I hope everyone is doing well.... I miss you!

Oh, no, Judi. I am just outside of Portland, OR and we had a difficult week with the weather, but nothing like you have had. So sorry about your sinuses and tummy trouble. You have had such a tough time and certainly don't deserve it. That doctor should be ashamed of himself. Unfortunately, some of them think they are above showing compassion even though that is supposed to be their business. I hope you feel better soon.

Four days?! ugh. It sounds like you are doing better, be sure to keep drinking fluids ok? You know the drill.
Who is on call for your doc while he is away? Can't you call the office and get
his doc "on call "?

Sorry to hear of your infection and diarrhea. Even if you have the runs, try to get in as much fluids orally as you can, since the dr won't give you an IV.

I hope you feel better soon. There is a reason I don't live farther north! haha. We had terrible wind gusts the other night of 70mph! I was afraid to go outside due to the big trees. I was afraid they would topple...and the little doggies did not want to go out to potty!
Hopefully after this hump it will be an all downhill slide from here! Good luck!
