Nothing abouthis is easy... I'm dying inside. Everyday is a fight, a struggle, I'm lost, in pain and hopeless. I had my surgery november 8 caught MRSA and my abdomen is still open with a wound vacc. I'm tired of this, I'm tired of the pressure to feel "better" I'm tired of it all. I wish I was everything I was suppose to be instead of this fat, weak and painful clump that this surgery has reduced me to. My surgeon left me full of MRSA an for dead as to not disrupt his thanksgiving, so ever since then I've been in this alone except for random ER and admitting doctors. I have a staph infection and I'm still not anywhere near done with this wound. I'm so tired of this life

Don't you dare give in, or give up. This isn't an easy road for you, and it's going to take awhile. It will get better, maybe not in the timeframe you'd like, but it will. The flip side of your situation is that you have lost weight, 53 pounds! That's a beginning to the journey you thought you'd be on. Keep in touch and reach out as you need to- there are people here that have faced their own complications after surgery and you aren't alone. Take care.

Look at your wonderful weight loss. At least you have that to be happy about. You have had a rough time, no doubt, but you are stronger than you think. You can do this. MRSA is particularly tough. Be sure you are taking all your meds and giving your body the best chance to heal. We are all behind you and believe in you. Please keep posting and letting us know how you are and how we can help.

| My dad had MRSA and CDIF, I understand your pain. Could I strongly suggest you get a new doc? You may need a specialist in infectious diseases... at least for the MRSA. Your weight loss is fantastic. Things are bleak now, but hang on and look for a brighter today tomorrow. Take a little walk, or get a mani/pedi....then get those fingers dialing for a new doc. Heck, get a few new ones til you find those that are listening to you and will work on your issues. You know your body and how you feel. So, tomorrow, ok? Get ready, get set and GOOOO!!! Pls post and let us know how you did and how you are doing. God Bless and Good Luck!!

Sounds like you're experiencing something like what exhortergirl went through. Look up her story and follow it through to the end. She had a really rough time getting off the ground, too.
Good luck!

I'm going to echo Pretty Woman's suggestion to find an Infectious Disease specialist (and a new doctor period). There is a lot out there to help fight MRSA and Staph (my mom went through multiple rounds with various infections, MRSA and Staph included-she was a diabetic and did not take care of herself. She had twice daily Vancomycin IV's that I was responsible for.)
Don't give up. That is the last thing you want to do. Try to keep your spirits up and you will get through this.
