| Saw my PCP today....kind of bummed
I was hoping she would take me off my blood pressure meds. But it's still a little high better than it was but not low enough yet. She did say not to get too upset it may be genetics and not weight that is causing it (lucky me I have a family history).
On the bright side she was very happy with my weight loss and we spent about 1/2 an hour discussing how I was doing she is very supportive!!!!
She told me I look great but I told her more importantly I FEEL great!!!!

Congratulations!! I know it's common that people can come off their meds, but be glad that your PCP is looking out for you in the long run. Standards are becomming a lot stricter for blood pressure control to help protect your heart and brain. Good luck moving forward!!

give it time, you may still come off of it. I'm hoping to come off a few meds myself.... metformin, lisinopril, pravastatin.... those would be nice!

I had the exact same thing happen with the blood pressure meds. But I was able to get off of all diabetes and cholesterol meds, and the doc was very encouraging about being able to get off of one of the two blood pressure meds soon. Be patient. It will happen if it is meant to be.

You are doing great! If your BP has come down since surgery it will probably continue dropping as the weight comes off. Best case scenario you'll be off them in a few months. Worst case.......you're going to be a healthy, fit person that can keep their BP under control with a med. The heavier we are the harder it is to keep it down in a "normal" range.
Celebrate where you are today.

I go in on Friday. I'm hoping to get off my cholesteral meds. Good luck on eventually getting off your meds. It's kind of frustrating but you are better than you were.

All in good time. Before you know it, you won't have to take it anymore. Congratulations on a good visit with your doctor. It's always good when our doctors are proud of the efforts we make in order to try and be healthy.
