| Is it a curse or what???? (long) I'm hesitant to share this with you all because I don't want you all to think I've got some kind of curse hanging over me!
Something really stupid happened this afternoon when I took the dogs along the river for a walk. When we were coming back there was this lady who sometimes walks her dogs along the dike also. (Usually you never see another person out there except for the occasional horseback rider.)
Of course none of our dogs are on leashes so I'm running to try and catch my oldest dog and yelling for her to stop but she is totally deaf and can't hear me!
In the meantime this other lady who is also hard of hearing turns around and leaves with her smaller dog but her 90 lb German Shepard is still coming at us! I'm yelling at the woman to get her dog but she doesn't hear me! Her dog runs up and starts attacking my old dog! I mean he was on top of her and I was trying to pull this big dog off and even kicked him a few times but he wouldn't stop attacking! So then I started pulling again to get him off her and he still keeps pulling and lunging as I him away from her. Gosh I was so scared and that lady was nowhere to be seen!
I had to keep a hold of this dog for about an 1/8 of a mile until I couldn't do it anymore and let him go after I turned the corner and could see the woman about a 1/4 mile away. He almost came back but I started throwing rocks at him this time and he left. Finally I was able to check my dog for injuries and was amazed not to find any blood or broken skin on her! A miracle thank God!
It was about then that I realized I was having sharp abdominal pains more over to my right incision areas. I'm still having pain and am not sure what I did to myself or what to do. I guess I'll wait and see how I feel over the next few days. I am definitely not missing the Cavalia show tomorrow!
Some of you who have been around for a while may remember the bad dog bite I got while out walking at the beginning of my journey. Well I guess my bad dog luck has come full circle now!
I think I said it then and I'll say it again.... My mama always said... "If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all!"
Tomorrow is a new day...

You poor girl!!!! If another dog attacked my chihuahuas, I don't know what I'd do. Just hang in there and keep on keeping on! I don't understand why bad things seem to always happen to good people. Glad you were able to scare him off!!

Shawn, I don't know what I would've done if something really bad had happened to Trixie (the dog) because she is one of the ones I promise my mom to take care of before she passed. The dogs are old but I've become so attached to them and they're like having a piece of my mom with me every day.
I can't understand why that lady kept walking away when she saw that her German Shepard wasn't following her! |
